Jerry Rawlings once threatened in the heady days of June 4,1979 to take-out/bomb their devil home at Breman. Oh how l wish she had died then.

There should be clear guide lines to ensure the constituition is not upsurp by traditional rulers. The issue is not limited to the asante people alone as we all know about the Ga chiefs banning noise making.

There should be clear guide lines to ensure the constituition is not upsurp by traditional rulers. The issue is not limited to the asante people alone as we all know about the Ga chiefs banning noise making.
Some chiefs take upon themselves to act as judges. Whilst we want to maintain and respect our traditional leaders, we are now a Republic and are all subjects of the state rather than local chiefs.
The question is, is it right for the asante council to issue directives banning certain groups and allowing government agents to operate. It is like me telling the owner of a house he can sleep in his own house. It's not mine to grant that permission. The asanteman and all chiefs should remember that it is out of respect that we listen to them and they have no power to compel us to do anything. The threats that they have been making should be seen as criminal threats and treated as such by the police

Asantehene is not the authority in Ghana and cannot run parallel government alongside that of the 3 branches of Ghana. We reserve the right to move freely unless otherwise directed by the Ghana government in any part of Ghana.

Not sure about this in a modern city. I was in Bangkok for the funeral and burial of their late king we can learn something from them. There are better ways of doing this

Right now, all of Ghana, makes pretensions of moving into the modern age. These old ways of doing things need to be rethought. ALL human beings die. There is nothing supernatural about ANY human being, being born or dying. We as human beings have developed these rituals, and the rituals complicate our lives immeasurably. May the Creator have mercy on the soul of this departed asantehemaa.

I respect tradition, but it must not be imposed on people. if every "traditional" area enforces it laws, where will Ghana be?
