  When I was 18 I joined the army in Europe. And we could buy expired army rations. Containing canned food produced before I was born. It was cheap so I bought some and it was still fit for consumption. In our country destroying this is stupid and not necessary at all. Even in UK expired canned food can be tested and you can legally get 1 year shelf life added.

  I believe the life extension is 6 months. In effect, the items are usable till July 2017.MOREOVER the items are not good AFTER JANUARY . We are in the middle of January. Why confiscate the items?

  This is common in wealthy and health conscious countries like U.K.
  
  They sell these things which expire, even on the same day, at reduded prices.
  
  Fools, I bet they will take them home and give them to their wives to use.

  The so-called health officials need to return the items to their owners and apologize immediately! The items expire after January 2017. We are still in January 2017. This is stupid and the authorities need to be dealt with by ...

  The so-called health officials need to return the items to their owners and apologize immediately! The items expire after January 2017. We are still in January 2017. This is stupid and the authorities need to be dealt with by the traders. After January 2017 means until January 2017 is over, the items are still good.

  This excersise is good but another area is the engine oil. Almost all the engine oil on the market are expired especiaaly total oil.
