So what happens - every four to eight years,another state property gets appropriated. This should not be allowed. There are some decent houses that can be alloted to the former president if this is what we choose to do so - but certainly not this approach.

Where is the morality that a John Dramani Mahama should be dashed a choice property on a Ga land? Richard Quarshigah, Ndc MP from the Volta Region, mounted a fierce and virulent campaign about government lands in Greater Accra. He called the Chief Justice, Thedora Woode, all manner of names, unfit and unthinkable to be addressed a lady, who had done quality service in her chosen profession for the nation. We all, including most NDC Operatives, argued against the cheap selling of an Official Bungalow that Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey used to live in to him. So, why should we suddenly change course to approve of Mahama owning his Official Bungalow?

Meanwhile, it is about time that the bloated, ultra-luxurious Ex-gratia to the Presidents and other Officials that Kufuor put in place were reviewed or even scrapped.

It is all daylight robbery of the People under the guise of Ex-gratia. The emoluments for these Officials are lucrative enough to be able to afford comfortable living during and after their service. So, a retirement package to them does not have to be so excessive.

We strongly suspect that many of them create dubious or covert business entities with cronies that perpetually produce a lasting stream of wealth to these Officials' safe haven accounts abroad.

So, it is about time we plugged up the leaky apertures that drain our coffers, and allow the massive corruption to persist.

Mahama should not even insist on staying in that Bungalow. It is a disgrace to his stature.

I have been following comments by the good people of Ghana about former President John Dramami with serious attention. Let me say this, nobody is smart in this world.
We leave in this country called Ghana and some people take advantage and go scout free and today it has come back to us discussing issues we can deal with yesterday. We were in this country when a former minister of state took advantage to steal our property (saying he has bought the bungalow the state has given him to preform his duties as a minister of state) l didn't hear Mr Kojo Yankah on that subject. Today, the table has turn so other people can comment on it, to me it a very good sign. Since the year 2001 l said, it's wrong to house our former president when he/she leave office. A country like Ghana how long can we sustain this can of arrangements when we all know we can't continue like this.
The so called friends to democracy would come and defend democracy is expensive so let move on, please don't let people go behind democracy and steal our properties.
My option is simple and good for the country, if you're a president and complete your term we pay you and find your own accommodation and your office complex. Let us do our calculations on every four years the kind of money we spend on our big people who managed our country, President, Vice President, Chief Justice, Speaker of Parliament, Members of Parliament, the judiciary, the commissioners of NCCE, EC, CHRAJ etc.
A lot of people are serving this country with a very good heat but go home after 60 years has poor people. Let the poor teacher or medical doctor enter into polities he/she become better in life within a short possible time. The civil society much think about Ghana not thinking about political party that's the civil society we have in Ghana. They have fail the country and everybody in Ghana thinks he/she is smart. What is wrong yesterday can never be right today we need to build a good country where you and l can benefit from it not only a few people whom they think the country owns them.
I am expecting the people who are voicing out about former president mahama residence should voice out against the late Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey bungalow. I want to see Ghana in the next 5 or 10 years move to a level of development where Ghanaians can have access to good education, water, housing, medical care, transport, electricity etc.
Let us think about Ghana not any political party whom you pay allegiance to, let us pay allegiance to Ghana and see the benefits this country will be more attractive to U.A.E, Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, Mauritius etc.
Every 4 or 8 years we talk about bungalows been taken by a politician when this countries are talking about improving infrastructural development, good medical health to their people, good education etc. I am begging Ghanaians should think about Ghana first God has blessed us with a beautiful country. Thank you for your time.

If Nana gives in then we will vote in out and bring Nduom as President. Tough decisons must be decisive and Nana appears not to ave clearly showing signs that he has that. The Govt is weak even before it starts governing. Ghanaians must wake up even more and challenge all those last mniute contract which Mahama would be collecting the commissions.

The seat of government is not at his official residence

flagstaff house is empty for the incoming administration,
as for the re-denomination Bawumia , he can go to the ex- veep house it is empty , that is his status house .
