This dumb excuse of global economic meltdown is a mirage used by African leaders to keep their citizens in line. The jobless rate in USA is about 5% and most of these people will not even work if you even bring the job to them in their house.

Mahama just destroyed the economy with his brain dead borrowing for infrastructure development because they were getting over 30% inflated cost going into their pockets.

Manama's government failed because he lacked competent foreign relations experts. One of his waterloos was his brother Ibrahim Mahama's infamous landing of his American flagged private jet in the Iranian airport when Iran was still under trade sanctions by the international community. In fact this caused an international outcry e.g. In the US and Israel. Another one was when the leader of the sanction plagued Iran visited Ghana, something no country or government with good foreign relations advisors would embarked on. And when the Israeli ambassador protested, the NDC babies with sharp teeths lambasted her and the great Israel and instead of the dumb Mahama administration to issue an apology they acted as if nothing serious happened. The reality is that it was you same dumb Mahama who brokered a peace deal between the Argentine government and a US HEDGE FUND company (Elliot financial management) when the former's warship was held in lien and was subsequently impounded by the Ghanaian authorities when a court issued an order to that effect when the ship was docked on the Ghanaian coast. Whom do you think owes these hedge fund companies.Infact 90 percent of the hedge fund managers in the world are either Jewish or are of Jewish descent so imagine the tiny ant country like many beloved Ghana picking up a foreign relations war with Israel and this is exactly what Mahama and his looter government did. Then came again the Turkey gold bars saga, the flying cash to the Brazil world cup, The Obasanjo Mahama fist fighting in London,the Gitmo two and many others. I have always argued this point to friends during discussions, our economy and the blaming of Mahama does not solely lie with him but also with the global economic trends, most of our exports are dependent on the strength of the dollar and therefore cannot be determined only by Mahama.

The main causes of the economic downturn of Ghana were excessive dubious quid pro quo borrowing, dubious inflated contracts, create, loot, share, cover-up, CR1M1NAL nepotist inflated sole sourcing contracts to your relatives and the associates of your wife, corruption, incompetent greedy v1s1onless appointees, every decision influence towards winning election, making capital of DUMSOR(corrupt CR1M1NAL AMERIGROUP & KARPOWER contracts), your corrupt incompetence and the role you played as the ENABLER to allow your appointees, relatives, party members, your wife and her associated to RAPE Ghana financially with impunity, your weak leadership and the last but not the least vacuuming and syphoning over 80% of savings to make it impossible for the private sector to compete the government for loans to expand. Government paying banks 25% and above for T-Bill, why should any sane person rich his or her hard earned money to set a business is not sure going to be profitable? Why not but a T-Bill and make over 25% return in six months? In short, the corrupt incompetent agenda intended to make your family and associates richer at the expense of the progress of Ghana led to the near economic collapse in Ghana period.

If you have a thousand cedis in your pocket today, "best practices" will (or should) tell you that you do not spend all of that thousand cedis today. You still have tomorrow and next week to plan for. You, most definitely, do not spend that thousand cedis buying V8 cars to give away as bribes to people. Unknown, and sometimes malevolent economic forces are always about. You plan your budget, and educate your population, for the hard times, which will surely come. As Mahama has been reported as saying, history will judge his presidency. He should know however, that history is being written as we speak. In fifty years, researchers will go to the archives, and they will see a veritable cornucopia of material making references to graft, theft, extortion, cronyism, strong arm tactics, bribery and bullying that permeated the John Dramani Mahama administration between 2011 and 2016 in the Republic of Ghana. There exigencies of world events will always be there. The mismanagement and mafia like environment will also be well documented.

Any developing country that goes for IMF assistance is doomed for life. Bretton Woods has no love for anyone but itself. Why do you guys even quote the useless cedis into dollars in the first place? Do you guys want to compete with America? This is a 'Tragedy of the Commons". African politicians only follow Americans blindly. Right from the word go, everyone knew Dramani is incompetent. Building infrastructure and cutting sod is the job of the ministry of infrastructure , roads and development. The role of a president is to create an enabling climate for private sector development. It did not happen under Dramani because he lacks substance, ideas and understanding. These Northerners once again have messed up Ghana and they must never return anywhere near the presidency. In order to develop, there are four areas for every developing country to focus on. These are electoral reforms to shut the door for any useless person to become president. Secondly, taxes must be collected and used wisely. Thirdly, there must be an independent judiciary. Finally the banking system must be reformed to support small businesses with loans.
