    Not everywhere there are villages in Ghana where girl children don't go to school. They are kept home and there only value is to either learn a trade or be sold for marriage

    The two cows is still a heavy burden for the youth of today. Why can't we decide on something that will be affordable? How do we expect young couple to live comfortably after spending this kind of money on the marriage?

    It's not only due to "tradition". It's because girls aren't sent to school like they are boys. If they don't learn a trade sometimes their only value comes from being "sold" when they come of age.

    Expensive dowries ends up causing problems for the women in d sense dat we'll hav more single women, more sex out of marriage and little or nothing left to cater for d family after marriage for some of them.
