I wish all journalists and other categories of writers in Ghana will learn to write objectively on national issues as you are currently doing. We are tired of the partisan consideration of issues in this country. Don't mind the NDC fanatics and propagandists who say that you hate President Mahama. Please, continue to do your work in the best interest of mother Ghana. Happy New Year.

There is more wisdom abound in Nana Addo. He understands our traditions and culture. Indeed, he could have waited to have the chance to use state apparatus to embark on his thank you tour. But he did not. This goes a long way to prove that he could be one of the best, if not the best, president Ghana has ever had. Let us all pray for God to grant him the wisdom of Solomon to successfully rule Ghan, and keep the "loot and share apostles" and the Babies with sharp teeth in a perpetual abyss, the bottomless pit. Nana will surely deliver to shame all those idiots who have started playing the doubting Thomases. Thanks again Manasseh. More grease to your elbow.

I can say emphatically that our traditions and culture are the main reasons our country is underdeveloped and will stay underdeveloped, unless there is a paradigm change that is conducive to progress.
Donald Trump is still hunkered in Trump Tower personally with his advisers to oversee the transition process. He could have traveled the length and breath of US to say thank you to those who elected him against all odds. My question is: Will Akufo-Addo be a hands on President, or he will behave like JA Kufour who turned the Presidency into tourist attraction and traveled every two weeks in the eight years he was president? Time will tell.
As I have always maintained, no person currently living in Ghana has the conviction of purpose to do what Dr. Nkrumah and Dr. Busia did for the country. The cultural deficit is too strong on current leaders in the country to be effective leaders. Dr. Nkrumah and Busia spent a considerable amount of time in abroad, learning new culture and behaviours before coming back to Ghana to become effective leaders. Until we find the likes of Nkrumah and Busia who have lived in abroad and cultivated the western culture; namely, the conviction of purpose, ethic, and discipline, our country is doomed. The home bred leaders are products of the Ghanaian environment and nothing can be further than the truth - the culture and traditions will undoubtedly impact their perspectives in Ghana's cultural milieu.

It is very important to understand the culture and tradition of the people before you can deal with them. Development evolve in stages; that is, you cannot count two before the count of one.
The Western World pass the stage of most of the third world countries some 100s of years ago. The system, and the institutional structures of GHANA today is just like that of the United STATES in the 18th century. We will gradually catch up but not necessarily abandon our culture entirely for that of the West.
China, Japan, Singapore, India... did not abandon their cultures and adopt that of the Americas before they achieve the enviable feet they have today. All we got to do is to build strong institutions, well cut in the mold of the rich part of our cultures and traditions, to pave way for an onward transition into a successful nation.
It, therefore, behoves the one who want to lead the nation to be well cultured and nurtured, and familiar with the cultures and traditions of the people, in the other to better understand their ways of doing things. By so doing, it will be easier to diagnose and offer perfect solutions to the pressing needs of masses.
That is the more reason why Nana Addo getting back to the good people, the chiefs and other stake holders, to show respect and appreciation, and to lobby for their support to lead the nation to the promise land is laudable.

You seem to underestimate the cultural deficit hampering Ghana's development. It is more palpable than you think. What the western world and all the countries you named have in common is conviction of purpose and discipline, and I wonder if the Ghanaian and moreso the African is predisposed to these attributes.
China and Japan went through revolutions and wars to shape their destinies and resolve before becoming economic powers. Singapore for more than 40 years languished under benevolent dictatorship that provided the country a new paradigm shift for its development. As you can see my friend, the western world, China, Japan and Singapore were transformed into economic powers through the event of war, bloody internal revolution, and dictatorship. Think again, if you think Ghana can replicate the achievements these countries without internal strife. With India's income per capita of $1,805.58 (2015), it is not in the league of the aforementioned countries, not even close. It may be hamstrung by the same cultural deficit.

When I first read what this new young journalist wrote about his village and how his father slept on benches in mosquito infested ghana to make him a journalist, I shed a tear and only hoped he continued in that chenua achebe manner. Within barely two years he was infested by the Ghanaian journalist disease. Apparently he had no guidance. He has destroyed himself. He doesn't know that there is no permanence in politics and indeed such political writing. He doesn't know that the time I noticed him as a promising writer the politicians also did. I showed his writeup to other Ghanaian friends in Europe where I live for 21 years. This time round he would have got the hail him hail him money. Soon he will see crucify him 'pleite'. Why do you constantly use oldman in your article. Couldn't you have used a different description.

I guess you have emotional issues. It doesn't take much to make you cry.
Mr. Osei, if there is anything you must recognise, it is that Manasseh is a very good writer. May I inquire if you have been following elections in Ghana, especially the just-ended one. The description, "old man", as used in ...

I think by now we can call him old man without any ill feelings and insult attached and as a sign of respect, after all heis 72 years, but he is now considered to be the old man of much trust and expectation
Is nana addo a young man? Kwaaasia kwa hahaha
I don't see anything wrong with him using the word "oldman" he is 14 years younger than the so called youth but still beat him with 1.5 million votes.
It has taking you the first veil instead of the seven veils to show where you stood all along,no guise but straight to the point by saying I am a true npp.

Would you understand an opinion if you read one? In your mind it's either Nana asslicking or nothing.
