I don't think is the operators but the EPA who gave them the chance to put that station there, they are so myopic to the extent that they can't think properly. Most of the people heading that institution has travelled out bef ...

Most of the people heading that institution has travelled out before and knows where and how to fix gas stations so why can't they do same in Ghana? Their stupid and useless mindset always tells them to take bribe and forget about human live. Our leaders like talking plenty, I don't think they can jail anybody on this issue.... I think is time to start putting these kind of people in jail and forget about goat and mobile fon stealers.

If you research on LPG gas tank explosions, you will know that gas tanks do not explode because there is a fire nearby, even if there is fire under the tank, because there is no oxygen in the tank with the gas, so it cannot explode. In fact, it would take a large fire in contact with the tank, and quite some time before a tank's metal is softened to the point where the pressure can rupture it. Clearly, this tank was compromised already because the end cap was not securely fastened. The reports says 2 bolts were missing...maybe more than 2. The cap blew off under normal pressure, releasing the gas instantly and the nearby burning rubbish ignited it, causing an explosion. If there had been no flame around, this gas may have just been released and carried away by the wind.

Simply put, the mechanical failure of the tank was not caused by the burning rubbish. It would have failed whether or not there was any flame around. If the tank was mantained properly, this accident would have been averted. ...

Simply put, the mechanical failure of the tank was not caused by the burning rubbish. It would have failed whether or not there was any flame around. If the tank was mantained properly, this accident would have been averted. Though the burning rubbish no doubt finally ignited the gas, it could still have exploded if there was no burning rubbish, for example by hot car exhaust or a spark from a car ignition key.

We should be serious in this country.
This could happen to anyone.Let the lawsuit go on and those found guilty of negligence must be punished severely. Innocent people must not suffer like that.

Police will rush to a scene and handcuff somebody owing 2000gh CEDI's and charge him and later to court and jail, are they mad? They better stop arresting and putting these pety pety case to jail and jail these kind of characters, somebody's stupid mistake killing over 7 people and the police are sitting there waiting for report, do they investigate before putting handcuff to somebody who steals goat?

Socrates, this comment is rather unfair to all Ghanaians. Have you ever lost a loved one in an event described as 'accident'? How can you say Akuffo-Addo is not sent by God because of someone's negligence or shirking of responsibility. Is Nana Addo the incumbent? Should he impose on people to be doing their supposed jobs as a president elect? Where were you during the June 3 double disaster?Was President Mahama still not governing Ghanaians when many lives were lost? Or may be you are implying something that Ghanaians have rather not thought of. Think about it carefully...
Are we to believe that precious lives of Ghanaians can be wasted because God has appointed some particular people to govern?
Have you forgotten that Mahama's government is still appointing public officers to occupy sensitive positions because he is still president till the 6th of January 2017? If so, then he is to be blamed for all casualties because he is still the 'governor'. So my question is: Is it of God, that Ghanaians should die under Mahama? ...Food for thought...

Sue Government rather for failing to pass the occupational health and safety bill currently in parliament. That is the root cause of all accidents in the country. When this bill is passed the regulators can sue for high fines or imprisonment when activities of companies fail to meet legal health , safety and environmental standards. lets not sit for accidents to happen before looking for some soddy solutions to jus the immediate cause of the problem.
