If it is just dam even the villagers can easily dig a dam, it will take me less than 1500 cedis with the help of villagers to dig a dam. Take Yapei for instance the is a better river flowing there, that is the white volta this runs through several villages so what dam will they need? Just digging a simple dam in a village makes no sense, the dams gets dried in the dry season and in the rainy season the villagers gets water with even floods. This is just a 419 promise which makes no sense. You have done nothing extraordinary if you just dig a dam in a village, the will even prefer a bow whole. NDC has done thousands of bow holes in the villages and even roads yet they voted them out.

since late 60s all the way to 80's you hear of all these irrigation projects, Tono, Vea,, Afife, Aveyime, Torkor, Kikam, Botanga, Golinga, Dawhenya, Kpong,Weija, Mankessim, Okyereko ,Subinja, Tanoso, Akumadan, Anum Valley, Sata etc, if you know Ghana geography, these are throughout the country(MOFA website),please put these to use first to their fullest capacity and may be you may not need to put one dam in every village/community, I know a few do not exist anymore but I listed them since they are still on MOFA website, these are the simple things that can solve our problems, take care of what is in place, no new big projects we cannot complete, while we are on it the government should do well to complete the Asokore-Mampong housing project near Kumasi started by Kuffour!!!!!!

In the midst of the euphoria and excitement of victory, the NPP, it's surrogates, supporters, intellectuals and the so-called private sector have descended into lunatic idiocy of making silly requests and statements that defy common sense. It's now all about every nincompoop demanding reduction in this tax, repealing of this regulation, scrapping of these levies or abrogation agreements and collaborations. Even the American and Chinese economies will collapse if such radical and unreasonable demands are made on them. They forget that we are a developing economy with numerous challenges within a continuous global financial and economic crunch. Buhari and Nigeria thought it was that straightforward to make unrealistic promises and deliver because it was said so. Today, Nigeria is in total exotic mess with unprecedented high cost of living and a collapsed currency. The Nigerian economy in now in recession. As for the PEF saying they will support in the One-Village, One-Dam project by laying pipelines from the Volta river to the villages in the north, the least said about it, the better. Afterall,Nana Addo himself is going round talking too much, and saying he wants to make and write history. Surely history will be written about his tenure, and comparisons will be made. His promises and pledges which won him the elections will be used to judge him so he dies not need to go round making unnecessary noises. In short, the Pet's statement must be a complete joke intended to whip up the ego of an egoistic man whose appreciation of governance in contemporary global economic order is obscured by total ignorance, greed and the usual cheap African mentality of, "we have it all here, ...... Gold, Cocoa, Timber,.......": a colonial mentality that has been our bane since independence. We wait patiently to see, and perhaps to join in the usual excuses of,"we met nothing,...we never knew it was so bad, ......give us more time,.....etc" Ghanaians appear to be wide awake to make the comparisons, afterall Mahama, in spite of the 8-month long court case and the market-burning sabotage that marked his early days, managed to accomplish a lot without engaging in silly excuses. We are surely waiting for Nana to redeem his tantalizing promises. Surely interesting times await Ghanaians.

NPP should have come out with the total number of villages we have in Ghana and how many of them qualified to have a dam because the table of all the villages are not the same and the should also consider the types of soil they have even though is feasible but they should not have rushed to promised it.They should take their time to implement it because is a good policy to we those in the northern sector. I will rather urged the NPP's government to contract the university lectures who have in depth knowledge on hydraulics and drainage management to conduct research into it before they implement it or else it will be fiasco but God forbid even though I am not a member of NPP but I share this vision because of my parents who are sitting idle in my village this season doing nothing. I wish them well and my party NDC.Let come together and build mother Ghana but my village first which is Mion(Sambu). From Sumaila
