Accidents in Ghana are largely due to the single-lane roads. Most of the accidents are as head-on collisions with on-coming vehicle that is overtaking another vehicle. We have few accidents in a busy city like accra since most of the major roads are dual-lanes. I wonder why the NRSC has not figured this out yet. If we don't have money to fund dual-carriage lanes, we can still have single lanes but leave gaps in between the lanes to discourage over taking.

Death on our roads is too much ,why not fix a stopper under the paddle ,say 80 mph on all commercial transport ,that's the best ,when you temper with it ,you go to jail period .

What is over speeding? If my car can go 200km/hr and I drive 180km/hr that is over speeding? Our very bad substandard single lane potholes roads without road signs and markings is the root cause. We drive on these bad roads so before we get to a relatively good one, all the car parts are disjointed. So a little speed (60 km/hr) on the "good" road will send you to your maker. Only yesterday I used the obuasi - Kumasi road. You see some of the potholes and you think they were intentionally out there todepopulate Ghana! Look at the problem holistically and stop blaming the poor drivers who cannot defend themselves. The police are working behind the NRSC so they can get back on the road and MILK the poor drivers, that's all. Don't describe over speeding as Afari Gyan described over voting! Shame! !!

Why should drivers be compelled to join a unions? What is the essence of freedom of association as enshrined in the 1992 constitution? These unions are corrupt institutions with no sense of accountability to the drivers. You may have to get close to it to see how authocratic and corrupt the executives are and bullying these drivers with impunity
