I stongly believe Ghanaian MPs care less about the people. Anything there is a bills that will empowers the people to check the excesses of the executive or the law makers; you see all the MPs on the same side.

The Right to Information Bill has been in parliament for the past eight years, what is the rush to pass it now? NDC is shock to a point that they think it's the end of the world. It's either their way or no way. Now their big TH1EVES are like rats, they're working at nights only shredding documents. Awuah Darko, Twum Boafo, Opuni and company are working night shifts now shredding documents. We know where all the bones are buried already and their night efforts would amount to nothing. They would be tried and jailed.

I am not sure about all that is in the bill, but I understand that even if it's passed today, the full impact will not be felt until after 5 years. I think the NDC needs the bill passed today so that they can go into hiding for five years during which period it will be hard to request information about some of the bad acts they perpetrated when they were in power. If that's the case then the opposition NPP is right not to entertain the passing of the bill now. They have the majority to make the necessary amendments to the bill so that they can pass it to have immediate effect.

Adjaho Doe Edward the Speaker of the outgoing NDC Majority House of Parliament was busily approving all sorts of bills and contracts Ameri, etc including chairs from China for the sheer thieving and looting aspect of these contracts packed full to the brim for creaming, he forgot the work that needed to be done.
Apparently Adjaho Doe Edward did not get the memo Ghanaians sent them when Mahama was clobbered into oblivion at the ballot box on December 7th, that you do not go on a commissioning spree of uncompleted projects with the understanding, you are fooling Ghanaians on some so-called unprecedented infrastructure.
That is exactly what is happening here. There 24 amendments left to the addressed with the RTI bill and Adjaho Doe Edward is in a manner of John Mahama rushing to pass the bill without those amendments satisfactorily fixed and they are talking about coming back in 2020. What have they been doing over the past 8 years? Ameri is what they have been doing. The Bill is not comlete and cannot be passed or commissioned like the numerous uncompleted projects John Mahama was running all over the place commissioning. Next time NDC ever gets the chance to come to power again, they will learn not to concentrate on Ameri, chairs from China, etc, etc.

It is clear that Ghanaians elect a bunch of backward thinkers to parliament as lawmakers. What are the MPs afraid of that stops them from passing the right to information into law. I know, they have been afraid that the citizens may use the right to information law to know about the skeletons in their bedrooms. Yet, that law may help us also to know about acts of corruption.
Some of us will continue to be persistent in our demand to have the right to information law in Ghana.
