However, I am a Ghanaian and I have right to say anything I want to say. For example, if because of the election you instructed your inner circle members to killed a sheep to cures your fellow human being and her family members, and somebody also die in a hotel at the end of the election. Then I will support okay. However, one thing I have noticed in Ghana is that if you dislike the behavior of your own party the called you NDC, PPP, CPP etc. Furthermore, I am fante from K.E.E.A okay. However, if you believe me that I am NPP or not this will not stop me to asked for $1 million for K.E.E.A, my free school, my dam for my Village, free healthcare, free house, free wife if possible, my factory for my Village. However, did UP/NPP got somebody for the thank you service to Atoa Niama or not? or they used that Fante guy who dies in a hotel for the thank you service or not? We Ghanaians should tell our leaders why they liar to us. Who can tell me all the so-called natural resources belong to us? Go to the area where they mine Gold, diamond, Bauxite, oil etc. and see the life they live in from both NDC and NPP government periods. Why they lived these lives? Because all these things do not belong to Ghana. Ghana has only 10%. So why leaders promise one factory for every Village, free healthcare, free education, free wife, free school uniform, free food, everything free why? Then go to the cities dirt, dirt, dirt why? Hence these leaders will promise free things in their campaign meanwhile they do not have money to clean the gutters, clean the cities.

Any nation that allows murder of the leaders to go unpunished no matter the lying propaganda justification is doomed to failure and that is a fact of history , NDC has continuously found it necessary to murder all Akan leaders starting from Kotoka's wickedness, to Acheampong and now Mills. Justice should be enforced not these fake laws that have so many loop holes that true justice in the interest of the people is elusive. We witness how thew Mahama family now have control of all natural resources including reserves of Bauxite and iron ore so frustrated and sabotaged every effort at industrialization and construction of railway networks as they did not want the people to get wealthy by adding value and exporting . Its easier to manipulate ignorant illiterate impoverished people. Mahama and future administrations must be prevented from making sensitive appointments during the transition period.

The president of United States of America, Mr. Barrack Obama, was prevented from appointing a Supreme Court judge because he didn't have enough mandate left to appoint such category of officials in the dying days of his presidency, and that was not even in the transition period.

You see, I have noted the injury time appointments, signing of contracts and 40% National Service increments by this dying government with amusement.

And I have also noted the loud screams of 'it is not against the law!!' by some people. They insist JM is still president till 6th Jan and can make any decision so long as it is legal. And then of course they throw in the fact that President Kufuor signed the Single Spine thing into law on the eve of his departure from office.

With respect, the 'it is not unlawful' chant is absurd and ridiculous. It is obvious that some people do not take their bible seriously, for if they did, they would have come across the bit that says in 1 Corinthians 6:12;

' "I have the right to do anything," you say--but not everything is beneficial'.

But let's leave that bit aside for now.

Briefly, let me say that the 'Kufuor did same' argument is a useless and puerile one which simply suggests a payback time,when the same lot criticised the Kufuor action. That is not governance. It is madness fed by bad faith and tantrums.

See, the law cannot regulate every minutiae of our lives much as it tries. It presumes ( perhaps sometimes wrongly) that people will do right not because the law says they should, but because it is right to do right. That is why the word 'reasonable' features so prominently in legal texts.

For example, in this country I am not obliged to help an accident victim I come across, but it is right to do so. It would therefore be foolish for me to argue " well I did not do anything illegal and the law does not compel me to" if I refuse to help and someone asked me why.

But especially in this country, it appears we may have to put everything in black and white when it comes to our politics because there appears to be no sense of doing right unless the law compels us to do so. Even then, we have reduced the law to mere suggestions. Which is why the law states clearly that handover notes MUST be handed over to the Administrator General 30 days BEFORE elections, but until last week this had not been done. And everyone shrugs and moves on.

If we ignore even what is stated in the law, what is the chance we will do what is not stated but is the right thing to do?

SHS students need their tutors to hover over them to ensure they do not skip class and break school rules. University students need no such supervision. And it is for a good reason.

We seem as a nation to be in political kindergarten, unwilling/unable to do things right unless the law expressly prescribes or proscribes them. As it stands, any president can get up and appoint 25 more people to the Supreme Court and his defenders will scream "it is not unlawful because the constitution places no upper limit!!!" even though it would be plainly daft.

Any reasonable person can understand what the law says or bans. It takes a certain level of maturity, diligence and sound judgment though, to desist from taking certain actions even if the law does not prevent you from doing so. 1 Corinthians 6:12 is a handy verse at all times.

Maybe, just maybe, we may have to overhaul the transition law and write everything down in excruciating detail, since the written text seems to be the only holy grail in town.

Assuming, of course, that we can be bothered to actually respect the said grail and not treat it as mere suggestion."

In the wake of very good "political hygiene" this would not happen at all, even if the constitution empowers the outgoing President. Moreover, it is a matter of respect towards the successor, self discipline and political maturity of the predecessor which can prevent such bad decisions. But unfortunately, these aspects do not count and has never counted on a continent like Africa. This cements my outcry for the overhauling or shredding the 1992 constitution and replacing it with a very well designed and constructed one, without loopholes. The 1992 Constitution is "sick" and needs a very curing medicine!!!
