President Mahama vowed not to over spend in the election year, not to increase salaries and allowances of public and civil servants and not to introduce any subsidies in any sector. He has paid dearly for trying to impress the IMF with his seat. But in a way it is better. Let another person try and then at the end Ghanaians would see how difficult it is. Any other person would simply have yielded to these demands just to win the elections, but Mahama stuck to his principles. The sweet promises of Nana Addo are going to put unnecessary pressure on his Government. But he brought this on himself. No excuses.

I taught as a professional teacher and from that I built my house. How does this teacher expect any govt to build houses for all teachers? What do you do with your pay? The best the govt can do is create an enabling environment for teachers to build their own homes, like lowering interest rates so that teachers can borrow from the banks. If this is the mentality of the current crop of teachers no wonder our children can't even read.

Dear Concerned teachers, what can you do if the NPP government does not fulfill its promises to you? All you can do is to try hard to vote them out of power but trust me by then the NPP would have used 4 years to enrich themselves. Even if the NPP is out of power after 4 years no government can build houses for all teachers. You have betrayed your professionalism big time by believing that the NPP government will build houses for you. Teachers can organize and get houses without depending on any government hnadouts.

It is being suggested that the defeated NDC supporters are now behind these threats. If the teacher trainee 'allawa' is restored by npp, will teacher's cert 'A' be brought back? That was the certificate being issued before the removal of the allawa.
If cert A will not be brought back but teachers will continue to receive Diploma, introduced by jm, why will all tertiary students not be removed from student's loan and be given free allawa?
Because if teacher trg colleges should be issuing diploma, it means teacher trg colleges are now tertiary intns and all tertiary intns are to receive student's loan
Will the admission quota system of 40% be brought back?

Is Kofi Jumah saying that Akufo-Addo lied to the CTA and the Teachers to win their votes? The Promise Akufo-Addo gave is that he would pay the Teachers those amounts within 100 days of his assumption of duty as the President. I think Akufo-Addo knew that it would take all those steps that Jumah mentioned before getting the money, when he made the Promise. It might also be contingent upon availability of funds. So, all the CTA is doing is reminding him of that Promise. I hope Jumah and his cohorts don't come back to offer any excuses when the Promise seems stuck somewhere. Most likely, they might complain NDC squandered all the Government Funds and nothing would be there for such payments. Well, Nana ought to have factored in that possibility before giving that Promise.
While it would be too early to judge whether the President-Elect will fulfill that Promise or not, it is unwise for Kofi Jumah to amend the Promise with new clauses and conditions. Meanwhile, what capacity has Kofi Jumah in the in-coming Administration for him to make such irritating comments?
Akufo-Addo's Presidency is even yet to take off and his surrogates like Jumah has begun insulting Teachers for reminding Nana of his Promise to them? Why would he call the Teachers ignoramuses? Jumah must not forget who taught him how to read and write, and any other lessons, like Civics, that he might have built upon to reach this far in Politics. Or, did he even learn that much? Calling the Teachers ignoramuses is like saying Drivers don't know what vehicles are! Shame unto you, Kofi Jumah!!
