If we think of ourselves as one people: when we see a list of this nature, the thoughts that will come to mind will be: will they be able to execute their duties well but not where they come from. This list may not be true but you start these negative comments and it sticks in some peoples minds and develops into hatred. This is what we have to guard against.

Ghana will crumble in the next 25 years and the tribe to instigate this is already at work: the Akans! Since when did they see only themselves as Ghanaians? ...especially when even the most insulted Ewes joined Goldcoast even before the asantes came on board?

The problem asantes in particular have with Ewes is that even if they see just one Ewe name amongst 57 ghanaian names in any job, they have a problem; they become uncomfortable. In JJ's government akans dominated. Much as i agree that too many northern names featured in JM's government, how many ayigbe names did you see in there? yet we are being called all sorts of names.

If you dont want us as Ghanaians we have nothing left to do but to start thinking of plan B. Just as it is natural to go look for food if you are hungry, we as ewes will also seek our peace of mind and political adventure by exploring independence. We can build on the little we have in our region. Every body knows how 'ayigbe' people are modest and content with JUST enough. AKANS take YOUR Ghana.

I do know that some tribes like sefwi, Nzema, Ahanta, Wassa and co all exist but are not fighting over positions. I have began to realise that it is usually ewes who cry foul over ethnicity. They will ensure they will employ only their when it comes to job opportunities. Police, Military, Fire Service, Immigration etc, recruitment will see clearly this agenda by the NPP. This time eyes will be wide open and it will be resisted. Ghana belongs to all of us. Kufuors time they did same thing but we keep quiet. They should try it again. It will resisted. NPP should remember inter tribal marriages have cemented all the tribes so enthnocentric agenda of people like Addo Kufuor and Osafo Marfo will be counted productive in the long run. They should capitalise on the recent improvement in the Volta votes to work on their hearts and minds to reassure them of the readiness to treat them fairly and equally in all their dealings. Social media is making it very easy for the formation of pressure groups along same believes. The ball is in NPP court. You have more to gain for you heed to this free advice

There are still ethnocentric people like Yaw OSafo Mario, Addo Kufuor etc who just hate the see names that sound like Voltarians. The last NPP administration ensured that no Voltarians were allowed into the Police, Military,, Immigration Fire Service etc. Every effort was made to move those already in those Institutions into non existing appointments and offices. This deliberate act by some members of the NPP continue to elienate the Voltarians and to give them the impression that they're Never going to be liked or favoured by NPP.. One advice for them.. There's inter tribal marriages so they should remember we're all Ghanaians. A lot of Voltarians across the country are gradually changing their mind to vote other parties apart from the NDC. The new NPP leadership should into ways to take over the Volta Region from NDC and I know development in that region will be massive since no party will make mistake of call in the region their world Bank.

All this is fake as the President-elect is yet to meet with the NEC to discuss ministerial appointments. This is one of the disadvantages of social media. Lies, lies and lies.

You’re now OUR President-elect. Come January 7, 2017, you’ll officially become OUR President and OUR nation. I ask ALL Ghanaians to rally behind you with PRAYERS, PROGRESSIVE advice and CONSTRUCTIVE criticisms for YOU to succeed because if you do, the WHOLE NATION succeeds.

Your task is enormous and urgent and you cannot afford to fail the country. If you do, we may lose our nascent DEMOCRACY which we love with warts and all and all and our crazy FREEDOM OF SPEECH THAT WAS EXERCISED AND SUPPORTED IN AND UNDER ALL CIRCUMSTANCES BY THE OUTGOING NDC ADMINISTRATION UNDER H.E. JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA. Unfortunately after NDC1, calls for some other than civilian intervention has been growing longer and louder with each successive government because it is dawning on Ghanaians that, “The more things change, the more things stay the same” and that instead of being vehicles for meeting our needs for education, health, housing and agriculture, political parties and ministerial appointments have largely become vehicles for giving criminals masquerading as politicians the veneer of respectability to steal from the national coffers to enrich themselves while the masses continue to suffer. Your administration should go down in history as the one that stopped the rot associated with civilian administration and restored the confidence in this institution.

As Professor Lumumba has been saying all along, Africa needs visionary leaders who'll be politically and morally strong enough to surround themselves with people who'll also be morally, politically, and technically strong enough to translate leaders’ vision into a reality. If you find such people outside your political party or ethnic group, go for them. Be the unifier you promised you will. The story of the late Thomas Sankara, should inspire you.

A list of people allegedly being considered for ministerial appointments has been published here under the above caption. Most people understandably are alarmed and not happy with those who had already served as Ministers under ex-President Kuffour because apart from Dr. Addo-Kuffour, who had managed the Defence Ministry with excellence and without any scandal, the rest had “bombed” terribly and/or gotten tainted with scandals. Forget about their ages people were also concerned about. They simply don't share your vision that corruption is the greatest threat to security in Africa. A very detailed account about one will suffice for the time being.

Ishmael Ashitey for example, was fingered as the mastermind behind the 2000 financial malfeasance that occurred at the Tema Metropolitan Assembly which then Minister for Local Government, Captain(ret) Effah-Dartey, described as "the largest in that Ministry's history." Unfortunately even though Nana Akomeah, who succeeded Effah-Dartey promised prosecution against the culprits, the case was swept under the carpet and instead Ashitey gained promotion to a ministerial appointment as Minister for Industries while his counterpart Mr. Osei Aidoo, then MP for Tema West who had pushed hard for prosecution was left in the lurch. So much for Kuffour's fight against corruption! Just pay a visit to the IT Center and the nondescript wall around the Tema Manhean Post Office Ashitey gloats to have funded with his portion of the MPs Common Fund over the 12 or so years he was the MP and see if you won't slap him!

At the Ministry for Industries, Ashitey flopped terribly and was transferred to Fisheries where he again got himself involved in corrupt practices surrounding pre-mix fuel.

Even since he became the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of NPP, Ashitey's input has virtually been zero. This behavior prompted Honorable Ursula Owusu, to oppose his nomination to continue in the post. Instead he has played fast and loose with the NEC instructions and sown seeds of discord between the indigenous and the non-indigenous people at Tema when none existed. Ashitey was behind the frivolous lawsuit filed against Carlos Ahenkorah to prevent him from contesting in the primaries against the incumbent Naa Torshie, who had lost touch with her constituents even though the NEC had directed otherwise. Carlos went on to win the primaries and the nationals.

Ashitey is a serial homewrecker. He has at least broken two marriages by enticing impressionable married women with wild promises and his ill-gotten wealth. I know some people will dismiss this as trite. However, apart from being immoral, this is also a socio-economic issue, that shouldn’t be belittled or dismissed. Can you imagine children growing up without fathers or mothers because of infidelity encouraged by people who are supposed to know better? Nana, if all this doesn’t worry you, go ahead and give Ashitey a ministerial appointment.

As regards the post of National Security boss, I’m afraid this may be too much for Effah-Dartey. The world has become more complex and more dangerous. The person who should have your ears on such sensitive matters should command respect with his expertise from the security and law enforcement agencies. I suggest you reach out to the pool of retired military officers not below the rank of Colonel with extensive internal and external experience. For obvious reasons, the retired officer must have no “garbage” and not be more than 65

Nana, because Ghanaians expect so much from you, others will voluntarily will give you the real “Apo” about your potential appointees as I have done. Don't dismiss it as mere gossip. The Parliamentary Vetting Committee doesn’t have a good track record of serving the country well. Complement its findings with “Apo” before you sign on and you'll be glad you did.

Finally, know that most politicians are not elected by their constituents based on performance but on what Professor Lumumba says, "Feel good effects" because they identify with them ethnically. So once in office, get trusted surrogates to pay unannounced visits to any area that piques your interest to confirm whatever you may be hearing from Parliament and act appropriately. The social, economic, and of course, political effects of this will be enormous. And then . . .make sure you don't become one of the "Feel good effects-elected" presidents!
