Future elections must be held in November so that there would be enough time for the transition. Today is just the initiation of the process. As Amoaku Baah has rightly observed money will be in short supply and Rawlings can simply not run the party on boom speeches and empty self praise. He would need the nuveau rich in the party of the Mahamas, Haruna Idrisus, Ayarigas,and Ahwois to keep the party machinery oiled. Forget of Nana Konadu. If Mahama refuses to stand, then the Trade Minister may be the best bet as he is liked by the Rawlingses.
