Collins, your stories are very sketchy. Which airline would charge you a paltry 3000 rands ticket from SA to Ghana?
Did you report the phone incident to the Police and what was their response.

I cannot believe that this is the experience of a CEO of a company on a business trip. You appear childish and naive for your behaviour. It also appears you did not want to use official sources to do business but corrupt channels. I find it strange that despite English being the language in South Africa, you behaved as if you could not speak the language of the country and had to rely on others who spoke both your language and the host country's language.
How on earth would you pay for something and a day later the seller comes back to say your money was fake and you accepted it? Is that how you conduct business and if so, for how long will your business survive, let alone grow?
I hope you have learnt lessons from your childish experience and you will begin to use official channels to do business in Africa to reduce corruption. You wanted things on the cheap and in the end it cost you more. It serves you right and I have no sympathy for corrupt business operators like you. Change your business model and use official channels, pay taxes, etc before you get into more serious trouble including risk to yourself.

I am wondering too. Why would a person of his caliber create those situations for himself?

Kofi well said. I pondered over the same issues that you raised and had to conclude that there is more to the story than what he presented. I hope he has learnt an invaluable lesson from this childish and weird behavior.

I don't know where you went to school. But you look like an educated fool. Don't post these stories for others to read. Use your head and let your informal thoughts guide your mind.

Did you see the airline counters where tickets are sold at OR Thambo? And you chose a congolese roaming the streets? By the way how did you know he was a congolese? Who says a one-way tickct to ANYWHERE costs R3000?
Then after buying a phone from a Nigerian you go back the next day? What for? ADVICE:Go home, have a shower and let a pastor or family member pray for you. You need help.

I wish to inform you that Prince, the Ghanaian I first contacted, was my host who led me through my dealings in South Africa.
As the norm is, I relied on my host who knows the system very well and whom I trusted to get the best for me.
My lessons are well learnt and I advise that anyone visiting the country should as well be wary of how they trust their hosts. Thank you for all the concerns. Collins Agyare- CEO of KnB
