The NPP primaries are more competitive and so it is really who they like and I see Bawumia has worked hard regardless of what happens in this election and may be a good contender for Kyeremanteng. Mahama was just lucky -- who knows if he would have won the primaries had NDC gone through the primaries.

Indeed President Mahama spoke the truth and we need to stop the hypocrisy in high places. One has to ask: What at all would get Akufo Addo, an intelligent politician brought up with politics in his veins, to make such a naive and self-damning statement about a Northerner to another Northerner?

Nobody who knows Ghana like Akufo Addo does will fail to register the unfortunate fact that certain ethnic groups usually tend to stick stick together through thick and thin and that unless a member of those ethnic groups is particularly cosmopolitan -- like Bawumia is -- it would be dangerous to ignore the possibility that he is tribalistic within himself. That being the case, why would Akufo Addo, who has been dogged by accusations of ethnocentrism, be so foolish as to give ammunition to someone he knew originated from a region that has a tendency to practise tribalistic politics? To imagine that Nana Akufo Addo would declare to a Northerner that his party will never be led by a Noetherner is a BLATANT LIE. After all, MR S D Dombo, a Northerner, WAS ELECTED TO LEAD the United Party before February 1966. And Akufo Addo knows this. So why would he distort the history of his own party and tell a lie to Haruna Atta? A lie, moreover, that would hurt Akufo Addo's own image and thus be self-defeating?

The President doesn't even need to apologize because, Ghanaians don't even need his apology. And to Haruna Atta, it is a shame to also endorse the President remark. Only worthy people should aspire to lead the country. If indeed the intention of our so called leaders and politicians is to serve the people of Ghana it should not matter what their tribe is. Kwame Nkrumah was Nzema but he reached far beyond tribe and country. He reached out to Africa and the world. That vision is why today Ghanaians have lived harmoniously with each other. it is only today that our small minded politicians feel that there is a need to play the tribal card. It was the same Nkrumah who made in-roads and brought the northern territories into enlightenment through education and social development. It is his influence that has made it possible to have two presidents hailing from the north. Yet he was not corrupt nor was he tribal in his views, and he worked easily with all those who shared his vision for Ghana and Africa. So what gives us the right today to see Ghana through a tribal or religious lens. It is true that tribalism and nepotism have always existed in how with deal with each other in Ghana, but it has never had a hold on how this country has been run, not until JD Mahama assumed the presidency. Today the majority of his key appointees are his ethnic associates, and he unashamedly now encourages Ghanaians to vote along tribal lines and not on the basis of his governments inability to deliver. We heed his call at our peril. This Man's continued rule will be detrimental to Ghana. Most of our West African neighbours have has civil conflicts that originated from tribalism. I am sure that Ghanaians will rise above such stupidity.

I am a dagomba man, I don't care who rules Ghana. I care only that if any leader from any tribe can change my life.That's what I care.
I want a good future.I am 44 now, I am jobless with two kids.I sit at tamale Ababoo market, helping people take their sacks on my toroko to their homes.I completed form four long time ago, but I'm jobless.

In NPP time, I was employed as a clerk in tamale education unit, doing office work as a typist and secretary to Kudamo.I did my work perfectly, because, I had lots of training and so on.
NDC came and took many of us out. Since then, I lost everything with two kids and wife.
Before I got this employment, I took a course in computer skills and because I was a typist before, it was very easy to pass.
My boss liked me so much,because, I was very good, finishing all my work on time.
When they stop paying me, and gave me a letter, my boss gave me money and even shed tears in my face. I told him that, I should cry to him for the love he showed me.

I am crying now whiles writing this. Kodamo is retired now but I make sure, every week, I buy yam,sometime, when I raise cock I Will pick one for him.I'll even go to my village and bring yam for him but he'll say why? He'll refuse ,I'll say pls, I'm not rich but the very day I saw u crying remain in my heart forever.

What we supposed to be a positive event; a peaceful expression of citizenship , is exposing tribal divisions? NDC leadership must understand a country divided on tribal lines is doomed to remain backward in terms of positive developments as the focus would be mistrust of each other. Alhaji Haruna Attah should be grateful to the NPP that he is not at the Accra psychiatric hospital now. Before NPP came to power in 2001, he had a brain tumour. It was President Kufuor who paid for his surgery.

An NPP party, which Haruna Attah says is an Akan party, made he, Haruna Attah, a Board member of Tema Oil refinery for almost six (6) years. The benefits of such a position were enormous. For the six (6) years Haruna Attah got free fuel, not to talk about allowances.
