AUTHOR : ADJAPONG NTRA SAKYI------ Wise up Mr President. It's unfortunate that Ghana elected a dimwit as the president in the person of John Dramani Mahamah. The constitution of Ghana demand that when a sitting president dies his vice takes over. It's not in the constitution of any party in Ghana that after four or eight year mandate of the president his vice automatically becomes the next presidential candidate. So for John Mahamah to go about with the drivel that NPP did not allow Aliu Mahamah to succeed John Kuffuor shows the president as a fool or very much uninformed. Which is an insult to the sensibilities of Ghanaians.

Ghana are suffering too much under incompetent Prez Mahama and his NDC. 8 years mess-up of the economy is enough, interest rates too high, inflation high, utility tariffs too high, school fees too high, cost of healthcare too high because NHIS is collapsing, corruption and lies have become normal under Prez Mahama. No right minded Ghanaian will vote for such incompetence. WE WANT CHANGE.

Mr Annin has a point here, but unfortunately, political interference in the policing in nothing peculiar to Ghana. Police Chiefs all over the world are appointed by Mayors or Presidents. They are therefore under the thumb of the government of state officials. A case in point was when onetime ex-Deputy Prime Minister of the UK (John Prescott) was arrested for over-speeding. His excuse was his missus had an appointment with her hair dresser and was running late.

You are wrong, it is not in UK. John Prescott was arrested!!! He gave reasons which could be pardoned.

21st century crime is reduced by preventing it. How is crime prevented? What is crime? What are the offences mostly committed during election period? How are threats treated ? The police must be seen and unseen everywhere now so that they can get, see credible evidence for criminalization and again stop or prevent some violence from occurring. We all have to take some responsibility of ourselves. The community, the family, the church, institution and society at large. Charity begins at home. We all do not have to bring shame and disrespect to the society we belong to. That is why in comparative criminology the Japanese are referred to as the lowest crime country and Americans the highest crime country these data may have changed now. My concern is the Japanese have a philosophy that you do not have to bring shame to the community you belong to but pride to the community. What do we want to bring to our communities, we belong to? Do we want pride to be associated to our communities or we want violence to be associated to our communities? These are some of the issues the media should assist the police to do. Not standing watching people sitting on the fence knowing very well that the fence gonna break down but will not stop it from falling but talk about the breakdown of the fence. thanks
