The constitution of Ghana demand that when a sitting president dies his vice takes over. It's not in the constitution of any party in Ghana that after four or eight year mandate of the president his vice automatically becomes the next presidential candidate. So for John Mahamah to go about with the drivel that NPP did not allow Aliu Mahamah to succeed John Kuffuor shows the president as a fool or very much uninformed. Which is an insult to the sensibilities of Ghanaians.

The government won't be fixated on infrastructural development in its second term but on measures to improve livelihood, taking advantage of the infrastructural base already laid. What could be more reassuring than this explanation?

Ghanaians may be in want of instant gratification (which infrastructural development doesn't immediately provide---and which Akufo-Addo and his NPP are quick to snatch at in their bitter but misplaced bad-mouthing campaign); but if they look beyond today, they should see what some of us have seen to assuage all doubts, suspicions and apprehensions. Just as Nkrumah sought to do to move Ghana beyond where his opponents could bring it after orchestrating his overthrow, so also is the NDC administration bent to do (starting with Jerry Rawlings and moving on with Atta Mills and John Mahama).

I congratulate the brains behind this move and urge them to intensify their efforts. Clearly, video clips on their activities (the latest ones being the Kawo Kudi and Odododiodoo sessions in Accra) are heart-warming. Others are of course in other parts of the country. They tell me that the NDC is indeed a grassroots machine that knows how to mobilize support for its cause.

Under Mahama we had all kinds of schemes by the government to siphon money from state resources. These includes Woyome,GYEEDA,SADA,SUBAH,Bus re-branding and many others.

Mahama has done far more for the North in three and a half years than the NPP did in eight years. I bet Mahama will do more in another four years that will make us remember him as a northern patriot for years to come. Just like Aliu Mahama, Bawumia has no clout in the NPP, and I bet he will not make any impact on the north so far as the NPP is concerned. We in the north will be doing our children a disservice if we fall to the NPP deception and refuse to support our own. Afterall, just last week at a political rally at Akropong, former President Kuffuor said that the Akwapims and Akyems should vote for Nana Addo because he is their son. Let us as northerners not listen to a desperate Bawumia and make a mistake that we will live to regret later. Bawumia's only interest is not our pride and welfare, but how he will become a Vice President. Mahama is our sure bet.

Anyone can take government money to do infrastructure projects. This was why JD Mahama himself said in 2008 that any government that celebrates infrastructure is weak minded and a sign of mediocrity as is the job of the government to do infrastructure projects. We do not eat infrastructure , only jobs can help us eat. If JD Mahama has made an appreciable difference in the lives of people in the north the they will vote for him. He does not have to appeal to his being from the north. So what should southern voters think when they hear what JD Mahama 's campaign message.? Vote for their southern son? He is a president for all Ghanaians not northerners. If you all NDC supporters lack objectivity, that is your choice . Insulting Dr. Bawumia for saying the obvious is imbacelic.
