…The Ghana Armed Forces has denied media reports that it has assigned men to protect President John Mahama’s brother, Ibrahim Mahama.

Media reports have suggested that soldiers have been detailed to guard the President’s brother after pictures of him in the company of soldiers while on a health walk emerged on social media.

But in a statement to clarify the matter, the Armed Forces Command condemned the act and assured that the necessary action is being taking to address the issue.

“The Military High command has taken a serious exception of the bad conduct in respect of soldiers who participated in a health walk and were alleged to have been providing close protection to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama.

“The Military High Command wish to state that it has not assigned any soldier as body guard to Mr. Ibrahim Mahama. The soldiers in question were assigned as part of the security detail at the flagstaff House,” the statement signed by Director Public Affairs Colonel Aggrey-Quashie noted…..

So you cannot campaign on the achievement of John Mahama but rather on the fact that if he looses, a northerner could possibly never become a president. What a hoghwash.? If a northerner is competent he can become a president for 2 terms without any qualms. We cannot as a nation sacrifice our well being to protect the bankrupt presidency of John Mahama. We cannot sacrifice the future on the basis of such stupid tribal jingoism as being espoused by Debrah. Change is coming. I am assuring Debrah that Bawumia will become president after Nana and he will perform much better than John Mahama. A president who takes bribe has not right to ask for a second term and he shall never get it.

I believe Mr Debrah is making a very sound case whichever way you look at it. In the first instance, His Excellency John Mahama apart from being a Northerner is committed to developmental projects in Ghana. There are several attempt to weaken the Northern vote and the Fanti votes which cannot be overlooked. Sincerely speaking, those who are shouting tribalism are indeed the tribalists. The NPP has field an all Akan Presidential candidates from its birth and through all its re-births. Nobody can say, they are not tribalists and if any mortal think in the slightest that the inclusion of Dr Bawumiah is a change story, then we are not reading well. When will Allan Kyeremanteng come?

There is a pride in zoning and sincerely speaking,there are no differences in the policies of any of the Parties. They are all touting the same thing.

The media as they normally do are touting unproven corruption tags but there could be a real secret agenda. Northerners will be shooting themselves with their own arrows if they fail to recognize ethnicity against Religious bias. Religion can change,ethnicity cannot change. If tribalism is not being employed by the other Party, why the squeezing in of a Muslim in the Vice Presidential slot. This happened with Alhaji Aliu Mahama and now with Alhaji Bawumiah. All the Parties are doing strategic pairings.

Having said this far, I am Ga Dangme but cannot think of any credible candidate to vote for apart from His Excellency John Mahama. None of the applicants have been tested as to fitness in the office of the Presidency and all are simply touting the unspoken tribal or psuedo religious anthem.

His Excellency is the Pride of the North and I sincerely believe they will not let this opportunity pass them. He has thrown an open challenge to Dr Nana for him to bring the corruption charges of Alhaji Bawumiah's to the table. Have they accepted the challenge?

The North should vote for reality and not mirale.
