This interchange has really helped reduce human traffic and car traffic. All these ideas were from one particular man who cares a lot about the drivers in the country. .. Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the New Patriotic Party’s running mate to Nana Akufo-Addo, has remarked that the John Mahama government seems to be more committed to themselves and schemes that will make their pockets fatter than in delivering on their core mandate of developing the nation and reducing the hardships of the people.

Dr Bawumia observed that this seems to be the reason why there is always money for scandalous schemes and projects that obviously end up enriching officials and cronies of the government, but there is always none when it comes to money for development and social investment.

Nana Akufo-Addo’s running mate made the comments in Offinso in the Ashanti Region on the first day of his three-day tour of the region.

He said “the NDC came to meet a debt of GHS9.5billion, which had been accrued from1957 to 2008, but in only 8 years the NDC has moved our debt from GHS9.5billion to GHS110 billion. 90% of Ghana’s debt has, therefore, been accrued just in these last eight years. Again, when one sums up all the taxes and loans, the NPP accrued onlyGHS20 billion for all the work we did. The NDC in eight years have had GHS248 billion from loans and taxes.”

Dr. Bawumia wondered why after so much resources, the NDC had still succeeded in making times hard for the ordinary Ghanaian and ended up collapsing almost all social intervention programmes.

“Despite all these resources, however, this government cannot pay what it has to pay to the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), it cannot sustain the School Feeding Programme, National Youth Employment Programme or Free Maternal Care programme; they have cancelled Teacher Training and Nursing Training Allowances, they are owing contractors and cannot pay the School Feeding Grants too,” he said.

I have read on a number of social media platforms, a short message which was authored by one of the celebrated Ghanaian musicians of our time, Barima Sydney of "oga dey chop am" fame, which goes with the above caption (ie. DEC. 2008 WILL REPEAT ITSELF THIS YEAR).

I perfectly agree with him because every discerning Ghanaian and follower of Ghana's politics sees a lot of similarities between what is happening today and what happened in the buildup to the 2008 general elections.

The mounting of giant billboards and vulgar display of opulence and flamboyance by the ruling party CANNOT and WOULD NOT stop the Ghanaian electorates from voting for CHANGE.

It doesn't take a rocket science to know that Ghanaians are loudly clamouring for CHANGE and like it happened in the 2008 general elections, nothing would prevent the wish of the people from manifesting INSHA ALLAH.

It is very clear that we are in an era of REGIME CHANGE and the wind of change can be felt by all, except those who wish to trickle themselves and laugh. Of course, the hard core reality shall soon dawn on them. Change on December 7 is not only necessary but also INEVITABLE.

Ghanaians need change because we have had enough of incompetence and ineptitude; we have had enough of the flimsy excuses; we have had enough of the untold hardships; and we have had enough of the NDCs. In fact, 8 years of NDC is more than enough.

My fellow countrymen and women, let's all arise for change. Let's all join the change bandwagon for the love of God and country.

The following vital performance indicators amplify the positive growth: Outpatient utilisation of the NHIS rose to 29.6 million in 2014 from 16.6 million in 2009 and 597,000 in 2005 this is the number of visits made to health facilities in the respective years on the account of the NHIS for only outpatient cases. This is positive because people now visit the hospitals often for their healthcare needs. It reflects the improved health-seeking behaviour and outcomes of Ghanaians.
