If these two that have Love and children bonding them together could not keep their relationship because of differences in political opinions even within the same Party, how in the World can any of them ever reach any consensus with members of the Opposing Parties to rule the Nation?

They are hopelessly irreconcilable on issues just because they see our Political issues as reflective of their personal wins and losses. They place their egos above everything else in our Politics. These politicians often take political discussions so personal that they submerge the issues at stake under their personal egos to our Nation's detriment. And that alone indicts them to stay out of our Parliament.

If even Love, such an intimate bonding aspect of humanity, that results in two children between two adult spouses could not survive the rage of their Political differences, how in the World, then, could we expect such Politicians to cooperate on other issues affecting the larger Society that seem more remote?

It is strange that majority NPP leaders in Ghana are the most inclined to copy from their political counterparts in the USA in rhetoric but when it comes to walking the walk, they are the least likely to do exactly what they have been preaching to us.

Adwoa Sarfo and Kennedy Agyapong could have learnt from Mary Joe Matalin, who is a very popular American Republican political consultant, and her more popular husband, James Carville, a Democratic political consultant who helped President Clinton come to and retain Power in the USA.

Another example is the marriage of Arnold Schwarzenegger, the former Republican Governor of California, USA, and Maria Shriver, the Democratic heir of the Kennedys. This second marriage just began to fall apart only because Arnold cheated on Maria by having a child with their House Maid. Nevertheless, these two marriages show people could hold on to their political beliefs without necessarily infusing them into their private lives.

But even more importantly, these examples are to show that Politics need not be so divisive as to break people's marriage.

This sad end of Adwoa Sarfo's relationship with Ken casts a heavy cloud of doubt over their respective wisdom, if you asked me.

I cannot emphasize enough that her story epitomizes the kind of Politics we have in Ghana, and explains why it is difficult to have two good minds from opposing Political Parties in Ghana to work together to save our Nation.

It is shameful and very sad indeed!
