NDC inherently afraid of Akufo-Addo - Lawyer Adofo

A Private Legal Practitioner Kwame Adofo has taken a swipe at members of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), saying they are inherently afraid of the Flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

He says majority of government appointees who have embezzled State funds are embarking on cheap political talks to make Nana Addo unpopular, fearing that they will be put behind bars if the latter wins power.

Speaking on Ultimate Breakfast Show hosted by Lantam Papanko, he claimed these ‘corrupt’ public officers always pray the NDC is retained in power so that they continue stealing from the State.

According to him, the NDC has a bad record of beating, whipping and vilifying its members but only turn round to paint NPP black.

‘NDC people are afraid of Nana Addo. NDC is inherently afraid of Nana Addo, pure and simple, you know why, Dzifa Attivor former Minister of Transport said they are afraid Nana Addo will put them in jail. Dzifa said she and Fiifi Kwetey will go to prison, that is because they have stolen so much money. They are scared…those in public office have stolen State monies, they are scared of Nana Addo so they want to paint him black, make him look so unattractive, that is the NDC propaganda story we are being told now,’ he said.

Lawyer Adofo called on the electorate to ignore propaganda schemes by the NDC and vote them out of power during December polls.

He believes the country needs a leader in the person of the Presidential nominee of NPP who respects the rule of law and not President Mahama who he described as benevolent dictator.

‘We can guarantee that the country can be in the hands of NPP for the next four years and above. What we need now is a leader who has an agenda to take this country from this mess, to a visionary type of country. We need a leader who can build a formidable team of like minded people, and say in the next ten or four years, this is where I want to take Ghana too, a leader who can inspire and encourage all of us,’ he envisaged.

He expressed worry that the NDC has the materials but scratched on the surface, accusing them of lacking the ability to dissect issue, indicating they lack visionary leaders and that it would be disastrous to retain NDC in power.

‘I would say we don’t have leaders now in the country. Look at the leadership from John Mahama down, some can’t even reason, Fifi Kwetey he was a former deputy finance minister, he had no clue when you ask him how interest rates rise, he had no idea. This is the guy who is challenging Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, you see when we have people like this in place, why are you surprised the country is going down, because they are hopelessly incompetent people now at the helm of affairs. This is not the type of leadership we need for the next four years,’ he said.

Asked if the country needs a government of four-year term, he retorted ‘I think it’s plenty because if we have bad people like NDC in power you don’t want to give them more than four years,’he fumed.
