As a 24-year old who left India and came to South Africa, I believe Ghandi was candid and truthful enough to write about the situation as he saw it. and nobody can blame him for that.Some years back,Newsweek Magazine published a report about the "holier than thou " attitude amongst African Americans in the US.Those who are half-casts and fair but who despite their complexion are considered by whites as "Black", like Obama,look down on their fellow Blacks. Even amongst the pure-bred Blacks, those fair also look down on the very black.According to the late Joe Frazier, what pains him most in life is Muhammad Ali referring to him as a Gorrila.Remember the " thriller in Manila " where Muhammad Ali said " It will be a Thriller and a Killer when I meet the Gorrilla in Manila."So Muhammad Ali, a World icon referring to a member of his own race as a Gorilla and nobody raises an eyebrow? Just as I started talking, one of them interrupted me and said l should shut up and that l am speaking "English", which means he speaks American slangs and doesn't want do have anything to do with British English. Then he went on,"you from Africa? Shit".Next, he said his blood is more purified than mine and that a white man f**ked his mother. He then pulled back his trousers for me to see how fair he was because "fairness" did not show on his face. That was not all; he immediately broke the beer bottle he was drinking from to finish me when the barman rushed on him to collect the broken piece. All these without provocatoin. A few years ago, a white colleague of mine in a drunken rage said he was going to "punch my black nose in". Clearly a racist comment so he lost a promotion because of it. Please do not pass yourself as an intellectual or an even slightly critical thinker if you are going to cite Newsweek Magazine to support your argument. Tell me, which serous researcher will cite that Newsweek's article to make a point? It is a Magazine with no serious researchers, where editors pick and choose what they want to publish base on their ideology and orientation. So please, give us a break. Look for a serious academic who has written in a peer-reviewed journal and tell me what they think about relation within black community. Then i will cite you a ton others who disagree with your nonsense.

Again, in what way, imaginationable, can you equate banter in sports particularly boxing to racism or disresepect for colour? Truly, your ignorance is grandiose! When Ghana boxer Isaac Dogboe fought Ugangan boxer Kakembo recently, Kakembo described Dogboe as a dog and even brought a chain along to chain his dog opponent. This is common in fighting sports - it is the arena where fighters get to freely expend a bit of testosterone. In what way, shape or form could anyone tell me that Kakembo was being racist by describing a fellow black man as a dog? SERIOUSLY MAN, YOU ARE OUT OF ORDER.

Gandhi was racist and siting his statue in Ghana, which is a majority black country represents the worst form of psychological violence to the people who have to pass by it daily. His statue could have a place in Ghana, though. A place like a musuem where people could go learn about his works, both good and bad.

I have worked with a lot of Indians over the years and they seem to me as a people who a seriously deluded about the worth of their country, culture, army, language and people. They have great difficulty accepting anything is wrong with anything Indian. So I am not surprise you are citing nonesense articles to make your nonsense argument about how great this particular Indian (Mr Gandhi) was. Gandhi may be a cult figure for Indians for his part in India's struggle for independence and may have even subscribed to principles which appealed, universally, to all freedom fights (black or not), but as blacks of today, we refuse to be serenaded by his positives alone to the complete disregard of his blatant disrespect for our race. So sir, if you feel so strong about it, ask for the statute to be given to you to place in your house.
