Giving the dismissed and aggrieved young men/women the green light to join ISIS is highly unprofessional, immature and uncalled for. The colonel should have chosen his words carefully, especially when he knows that he's dealing with obvious disgruntled and indiscipline group of individuals. Can you imagine a potential news head line in overseas' press: "High ranking Ghanaian military officer gives army recruits the green line to join ISIS?" The officer should have thus been extremely careful in choice of words..., simple.

this matter with these recruits only proves what i have been saying all along and that is it reflects the true flaws in the system of those who are called to serve the state be them in the civil service , security services or even political parties. Any proper psycological/social screening test would have immediately identified these lot of being of the coup de tat , putschist mentality with no regard for the institutions of state , sociopaths with pathological tendencies of masochism . We now have a constitution that glorifies such reverse selection pathological characters because it was designed by the Ahvois and the Tsikatas and we wonder why everything is upside down or back to front in this society. Look at the selection of presidential candidates 90% of them are selfish corrupt idiots with socio pathological traits manifesting in various forms in the same mold as JJ and what amazes me the most is the silence of the quiet majority, its time for freedom. All these govt agencies , civil service need to be disbanded , the constitution re written , security agencies disbanded so that we can rebuild these institutions with positive characters. Tribalism/hegemony has destroyed anything worth saving so we now visibly 500 idiots who we came very close into us paying and feeding free just because they had recommendations from ndc ayigbe/pepeni gurus. How does talk like that help us move forward? I really hate it when people like you who have perhaps had a better opportunity for education only return your base humanity to Ghana an never the benefits of your education . People that behave that way are essentially lost to Ghana as waste products. Be better than those you so eloquently argued against in the first section of your post and avoid falling to the base level of the closed minded semi educated people running most of the government. I for one believe Ghana has come a very long way and yes, we have many more miles to go. As a Ghanaian Living Abroad and running a business in Ghana with over 40 employees, I am doing my part by keeping as many Ghanaians as my business can sustain employed, paying my business and payroll taxes, which by the way I know of many ways to avoid paying but i don't do it even though I know my tax money is not spent properly. Living outside the country in relative comfort, contributing nothing to the betterment of the country yet complaining about how bad things are is really useless. If you can't be a part of the solution just stand by and watch with your mouth shut as those who truly love their motherland move it forward positively.

I met a couple at 37 hospital and looking at the the way they dressed and walking very loosely wawa like they never been to the tidous disciplned officers training. I took the chance to speak to one of them and they. Seems like not understanding my English or accent. Asking are you from Britain. ?. Come on the days officers. I don't blame you. Time will tell but thank God am on retire. Assume you were in their shoes especially those who are pushing to be reinstated. Do something about their situation colonel. Talk to Mahama OK Ghana is free and silent all because nothing of this sort has happened. But let fire pour in Ghana and you will fill the heat. That is so irresponsible. He should be admonishing them for even threatening to join any terrorist group and perhaps keep them under strict watch if they have the man power. Also, isn't threatening to commit a crime a criminal act in and of itself? So if some of the recruits indeed threatened to join terrorist groups they should arrested for national security reasons. Given the terrible reporting skills of the reporters on Ghana Web, I truly don't know the truth of this matter or how accurate the facts are. Again the heading was terribly misleading as usual.
