Senior Political Science Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr Amoako Baah, has said President Mahama has lost his credibility as the first gentleman of the land due to his indecisiveness.

According to him, it is increasingly becoming pathetic on how the President cannot take one concrete decision with regards to the payment of the nursing trainees’ allowances.

The President as part of his campaign tour Tuesday in the Brong Ahafo Region announced restoring the nurses’ allowances in full which will take effect this October.

Before this announcement, the President had stated emphatically that the best he could do was to pay GHC 150 only to these nurses; and that a committee had thoroughly done assessment and evaluation.

He further stated that he would love to lose the election at expense of paying these allowances.

In an interview with Ofori Ayim On Atinka FM’s political show, ‘Simpieso’ Tuesday, Dr. Amoako Baah said the back and forth status of the President is a clear mark of desperation. And that anyone who can just change things at will is not bold and competent.

He described President Mahama as a leader engaging in what is termed as “politics of pondering to the beast”, where one says what people want to hear regardless of its consequences.
Such a tactic is always geared towards winning elections; since he could see his defeat ahead.

The President’s sudden change of mind to restore in full nursing trainees’ allowance just two months to the general elections apparently shows that he is operating with fear and panic, he remarked.
