When a government shared AK47s, pistols, axes and matches among its thugs to maim and kill opposition leaders in order to ensure full intimidation at Talensi, what do you think the degree of pressure and intimidation was on the villagers? And when years of accumulated stolen wealth from percentages of inflated projects, judgment debts and direct use of government money from ghost projects like SADA are shared among poor gullible voters, what do you expect?

Moreover, if NDC supporters were caught with thumb-printed ballot papers to rig the elections at Talensi, how many of them were able to pass through undetected or allowed to pass through for stuffing the ballot boxes in favour of the NDC party? I believe you haven't yet forgotten that they used 5 billion dollars of our money outside the budget in 2012 to buy the conscience of gullible voters either. The good news is that, Ghanaians are determined not to allow NDC steal their verdict again in December.

This has been their practice since Rawlings time, and he himself displayed SOME crocodile tears as a result of the violence blamed on the NDC. Clearly, this is the precursor of what is to come in 2016 elections Mr. Mahama hinted about. We now know it is going be fought with AK47s, pistols, daggers, axes, matches, bribery and intimidation. And I advise our people to be more resolute in defending democracy in Ghana. Without free and fair elections, we can easily find ourselves again in a one party state like the one we suffered from under Kwame Nkrumah.

Nkrumah was in power for sixteen years during which he turned himself into a president for life, when he realized that his popularity had waned. In the sixties, and after he had squandered the huge reserve, the country started to go down the slope and Ghanaians visibly yearned for a change. But since Nkrumah had shut all the doors and channels that could have been used by Ghanaians to exercise their political will of changing him democratically through the ballot box, they had no choice other than to force him out of office through the military coup. Therefore, the coup that removed Kwame Nkrumah from office was the only legitimate coup in the history of Ghana.
