With this kind of primitive, the country will continue to lag behind. Foolish Ghanaians sit on their fannies and expect to be successful without working and when life gets hard they blame on the wizardly, fools.

Primitive superstition has no place in the 21st century. Primitive traditional libations and prayers never work. Similarly, primitive Christian prayers don't work either. The only difference is that the one is African and the other, European. Only secular education and science provide true answers for progress.

You see, Sarpong easily accepts it when the white man speaks of satanic possessions of people etc. what he does not realize is that it is the same concept in Africa, we just call it by a different name; AKA Black Magic, Juju, witchcraft, wizardry, etc. Sarpong things he is too educated and those kind of things are beneath him; what he does not realize is that the devil loves people like him because he refuses to believe that the devil exists which is the devils best trick, to convince man that he does not exist. What annoys me about his Sarpong guy is that he tags Ghanaians as lazy and primitive not realizing that it is an African belief system. You don't even realize people use wizardly to cover their laziness. There is nothing like wizards with spiritual powers who can kill you spiritually. Living in Ghana even in the early eighties, I never believed in that primitive stupidity.

When I came to America in the eighties at the age of nineteen, I indulged myself in all the hedonistic fun, keeping three cars at a time and at times dating three women at the same time without thinking about doing something in Ghana.

It was not until 1994 when I went back to Ghana and found out my friends and classmates who stayed behind have built houses and operating their own businesses that I realized I am behaving badly in USA and when I came back, changed my lifestyle and decided to invest in Ghana for myself and family.

I never for a minute blamed the old people in my family for my behavior. I know a lot of people here who lived a life like I used to live and now can't even afford to buy a plane ticket to Ghana and blaming their mothers and sisters of being the cause of their miserable lives without accepting the responsibility of having caused their own downfalls. The same thing goes on in Ghana. People drink too much making them lazy to engage in any profitable careers and blame others of being the cause of their bad drinking behaviour. Ghanaians don't want to accept responsibility so it is easy to blame others for their stupidity. No witch cause anybody to drink or take three or four wives or girlfriends when you can't afford it.

This has nothing to do with being influenced by staying abroad but just common sense.

You might be one of those people who believe in Antoa nsuo, Obinim and those foolishness that goes on in Ghana.

Idiot! in any society, there will be the educated, semi-educated and uneducated and amongst each class you will find people of varying intellect. Ask yourself where you fall. Don't be so insulting to those who have not had the privileges you have had the good fortune to enjoy. If you are a Christian then you believe there God and there is the Devil. The Devil manifests himself in various ways to attach or possess man. We may call it witchcraft, wizardry, etc. but the devil does possess people. Yes, I do agree that sometimes, some Africans as a whole, not just Ghanaians, too readily attribute the consequences of their own mistakes or lack of understanding of what is happening around them to be the work of black magic,AKA JUJU, witchcraft, wizardry, ect. but to deny the existence of the devil and his works will be a grave mistage. As it is said, the devil's greatest trick of all is to convince man that he does not exist. It might take you seeing the manifestation of the devils work or possession of someone by the devil for you to realize how wrong you have been. Do not so callously call you own people lazy and primitive for in all societies around the world, you will find people of ALL level of intellect and belief system. would you call those you do not understand lazy and primitive? What is going on in Ghana now? Now people are blaming others who they are not even related to as being the cause of their misfortunes.

You have to fortify your mind and have this belief that you have control over your spirit and nobody can determine your destiny and that is when you will stop believing in this stupidity that somebody is controlling your life to be a drunkard or being responsible for your unemployment when you lack skills or is lazy to be enterprising.

When you have weak mind, you blame everybody else for your foolishness but yourself.

You see, what some Africans term witchcraft, wizardry, Juju, etc. is the same thing the white man calls "satanic possession". It is this sort of subconscious inferiority complex that leads most Africans to doubt their own abilities and understanding; they believe anything said or done by the African man without the acceptance of the western society is inferior or primitive. What you do not realize is that a great host of the things you eagerly buy from the white man was learned, copied, repackaged and then sold to you as new, from our music, dance, food, medicine, adornments, etc. you feel so inferior to the western culture that you only see the packaging and that's where is stops with you. And voila, the battle against the witch is then justified and set in motion, all fueled by ignorance and worthless beliefs instilled in folks since they were children. Some grow up and shake off these worthless beliefs while others gling on to them like super glue on a piece of paper. The so-called believers will swear these beliefs are indeed genuine, but will be hard pressed to proof their claims or allegations against those they brand as victims. sad, but the quack soothsayer always succeeds in turning one neighbor against another, friend against another, one relative against another, one stranger against another, and the chain seems to have no ends in the communities where these beliefs are so strong.

Ignorance and gullibility are perfect companions, easily manipulated by tricksters and quacks.

Where I part ways with you is your claim that the lack of proof of witchcraft is evidence it does not exist. Tell me, how would you answer the Atheist who asks you to prove the existence of God? All you can say is you have faith, which is neither quantifiable no can be scientifically proven. I will not question any Atheist's doubt about God's existence, though I strongly believe in God. God, however, is beyond human understanding, and certain experiences and observations cause some to believe in God's existence. I have no right to question's another's disbelief in God in God.

You're also right about some people possessing certain powers to do what their fellow humans can never do. But these people do not go about killing their fellow humans. It's years of indoctrination and community beliefs that usually cause certain beliefs to become entrenched in others minds. In the Obroni countries, their genuine psychics use their powers to aid the police and their governments, while the numerous quack psychics use the commercial arena to rip off the gullible. By and far, those who die or become sick in Ghana often suffer their demise due to bad diet, unchecked infections, many eating foods that they're allergic to without being aware of such, many taking fake drugs sold by unscrupulous pharmacists or traders, many relying on local or native treatments that often do not help or sometimes greatly contribute to a worsening of the sickness, and I could go on and on.

Let's respect and admire those with extraordinary gifts, but let's also be mindful of the fact that these gifted ones do not have powers to harm others. I have no belief in juju, and its not due to religious beliefs or teachings. I've always viewed it since my early teens as a deception, and nothing has happened to make me change my view. I know juju to be a quackery carried out in many parts of Africa for way too long.

And unlike most of Christians, I do not operate or walk on faith.
