Instead they are busy working on the controversial proxy voting and the transfer of votes. Each polling station on election day will have at least 4 EC officials - 4*200= 800. Each official will be paid at least 600 Ghana Cedis- 800*600=480,000 Ghana Cedis. So filling fee of 10,000.00 for parliamentary candidates cannot be enough to run election. Let us assume my constituency will have Ten parliamentary candidates- 10,000*10 =100,000. Look at the arithmetic

If the state is not ready to finance, it shouldn't be the burden of the candidates. Madam EC, I want to know if it wasn't included in this year's budget.

How can you justify these fees with such flimsy excuses and reasons. Nobody should attempt selling Ghana to another Ghanaian. If Ghana were to be governed on the basis of who can pay for forms, then the Asomah Banda's and the Alhaji Salia's and the Desspite's and Kenpong's and the Kessben's are those who would qualify. Let these small minds remember that the opportunity to serve your country can never be structured on one's ability to pay. Afterall, those money's are our own bouty. Grow from mediocrity.
