  Dr. Emmanuel Osei Acheampong has taken the Church to a new LOW. How can somebody who has studied Theology to the Doctorate Level and preached Sermon after Sermon, ADMONISHING, RESTRAINING and COUNSELING members of the church in the name of God, does not feel restrained in the name of that same God in INVENTING such a DAMAGING story against a fellow clergy.
  
  It takes a VERY CALLOUS human being to make such blatantly false claims against another on a Public Platform. And when such a callous person is a 'SO CALLED MAN OF GOD', something very dreadful is WRONG.
  
  What we have here is more than meets the eye. We have two Reverend Fathers, one ASHANTI and the other GA, featuring in this story. Emmanuel Osei Acheampong, the Ashanti is the ACCUSER and Emmanuel Martey, the GA, is the accused.
  
  What makes a TRIBAL Distinction very necessary and important to this story is the fact that its obvious the POT is calling the KETTLE BLACK.
  
  For an Ashanti Theologian to display so callously such tendencies against a Celebrated GA Head of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana is an indication that SOMETHING IS SERIOUSLY WRONG with the Ghanaian Society. Even in the Church we are hearing ECHOS of a TRIBAL ATTACK, a pre-curser to a full blown TRBAL WAR.

  If the church wants to show patriotism and care to rooting out bribery and corruptions in Ghana why are they aiding and abetting the crime by not releasing the names of the politicians. After all the new PRO has stated that Prof Martey told him the name/s but he is not mandated to say it. It is ironic. I read the lengthy statements they posted expecting to see the perpetrators names but the church failed to tell us the names yet they claim to care so much that nothing can stop them from talking about things that do not go well, including corruptions, in the country. If you see a crime and deliberately cover up and don't report to expose it you are a criminal too.
  
  Check this, the old PRO Dr Acheampong's story mentioned himself accompanying Martey, on invitation, to one opposition lord's office, giving date and time. They label Acheampong's story as defamation of character to Martey and tried to give testimony to support Martey's incorruptibility. To keep the names of wrong doers on his mind and feels comfortable to eat and sleep makes him corruptible entity, no doubt.
  
  Opposition is compromised and I want to see what they are going to do.

  This Acheampong guy said he accompanied Martey to this phantom Opposition members house on 28th July, one month after he had been dismissed from his position.
  
  This Acheampong has never claimed that he was dismissed from his position because he refused to take a $50,000 bribe until the Moderator came up with his own bribe allegation, how convenient.
  
  How anybody with an ounce of brain in their head to believe Acheampong is beyond me.
  
  Does this Acheampong look and sound like somebody who will refuse a $50,000 cash?
  
  Acheampong is the kind of guy if he asked you to look up, you better look down.

We've seen a lot this year, the corrupt judiciary, judges & eminent lawyers, millionaire politicians, millionaire Men of God. Those are the top. Then the petty ones, the police, & other gov. officials, including the taxing officers . The list is quite long. Then the private business community which feeds on the corrupt govt. The market women & traders got theirs by over profiteering and cheating the ordinary ones, with the tacit support of the press. What I envisage is, this would go on for a while & when it gets worse, we could degenerate into countries like Indonesia, Philippines and the like or we develop internal organs like Urban Militants or guerilla units intending to clean the system. The price we pay for copying government systems instead of developing our own. Western Democracy is a bogus system to copy.

Has he checked the cancer in his denomination, There's so much politics in your church which the Bible kicks against.   I think that the current PRO of the Presbyterian church does respect our intelligence and that is why they have come out with that damage control but, it will not work.The biggest question here remains a fact, the bribery allegations took place in the year 2013,that is three years down the line as indicated by the former PRO of the Church,besides the Church or Martey did not dispute to the fact,why is it that Martey did not make it public then but now,in the year 2016?.So whether the former PRO is truthful or not is not the case ,because former PRO would not have accused the Moderator of accepting the bribe after he failed to reveal the said bribery issue in contention,I want the to know that the does not deserve respect because of his recent claims that the Presbyterian church was going to partner the NPP to bring about development.This should not come out from the man of God at all,what has happened he has to be blamed.

  The more prudent thing to do here is to dissociate the church from any such misconduct, after all the church is not the private property of Martey nor can Martey's private dealings be sanctioned and endorsed by the church or projected on its values.
  In any case Martey no longer speaks for the Presby church nor was his press conference organized by the church. What he says as Professor Martey, he should be held solely responsible for. To keep holding brief for the man only brings the church into further disrepute and only creates more doubts in the public mind about the real motives of the church and makes one wonder if the church itself might have been involved in this matter one way or the other.
  The man has gobbled down his pepper, let him sweat it out alone. Come to think of it, there really is no justifiable reason for the church to wade in. To do so is to unwisely put the credibility of the whole church on the line on account of one man whose tenure as moderator is nothing to write home about. In the event that the allegations of bribery are true and he indeed accepted and kept the bribe, the church would have shot itself in the foot beyond repair. Jesus said that if a man's limb cause him to sin, it is Better to cut off that limb than to risk the whole body going to hell.
