hi my brother. this is food for thought for you. ponder over this very carefully before you make a hasty decision that can change your direction forever. the bible warns against false pastors or prophets or men of God for that matter. whether you like it or not, you will always hear of these kinds of things against fake men of God. do not be deceived into thinking that they are of God. just watch them and always follow what the bible says. afterall even in the quran, it is written that where you are not sure, refer to the bible. your job as a christian is not to follow human beings but Jesus through the guidance of the bible. men of God are there to help you through the journey of christianity. where you realise they are misleading you, refer to the bible for guidance. all the truth is in there. be cautioned anyway that you cannot always draw your own conclusion from the bible with you own understanding. in this case, prayer is always a good solution. so all i am saying is that anyone who calls himself a man of God and is not doing the genuine work of God is not of God and cannot be seen as such. the bible says by their deeds you shall know them. but also do not judge them but pray for them. before i forget, as per your logic, did you mean that all malams, imams or muslims for that matter are without sin? good day my brother and remember that Jesus loves you.

It was reminiscent of someone else...JJ Rawlings! Especially, when Martey said...he wished he had big dogs, otherwise he would have let them bite the alleged bribe-givers. I found his style of speaking unusual then, but I had to believe his story. Now, with the PRO stating otherwise..I am forced to doubt him, just as I learnt to doubt many of Rawlings' statements over the years!! See Rawlings having lied that he did not accept any bribe from Abacha...and today, what do we hear?????Psychologists, media and communication experts etc. should listen to Martey's statements again and see whether he may be telling the truth or a lie!! Last year there was this AWAKEN TO THE WORLD-A non-dominational programme for sensitizing christians for evangelism and Prof. Martey was one of the SPEAKERS and made this same comments abour the fact that because he was SPEAKING AGAINST THE WRONGS IN THE COUNTRY, the government sent people to bribe him and CHASED them out like dogs. He was speaking about the need for christians not to heed to political influence when wrong things are going on in the country.

So it will be a bit difficult for me to believe that an opposition party who do even that kind of resources to do that. However, I am not the one to judge anyone but WHAT I HEARD FROM him during that one month programme in October is what I have put out there.It is however sad for the christendom and GHANA needs prayers.

Besides, the programme is also againg is coming on this OCTOBER every FRIDAY AND SATURDAY from
8 AM - 12 NOON. It is very helpful for those who are evangelism inclined.

The former PRO of the Presby Church must be a really bad person. I am not comfortable with a pastor who is sacked from his commission. Because the Christian church takes a lot into account when their pastors go wrong. But when it gets to the point of sacking a pastor, then it is certain, an unpardonable deed had been done. This may be the case of Dr. Acheampong, the former pro of the Presby Church. The story he puts out is not credible or convincing..If someone is given a bribe of $100,000 when you were not present, as claimed. The bribe receiver then offers to split the money given him equally with you! It does not make sense in anyway. It is surprising a minister of the Gospel will be persuaded to come up with such a foolish story. He had been foolishly drawn into this to dent the image of Prof. Martey and make the bribe givers rather look good. Assuming a bribe has been given by one or the other of the two leading political parties. President Mahama and the Ndc are known to be openly sharing V8 4x4 vehicles to Akua Donkor, some chiefs and perhaps, some pastors who also happen to head peace councils. Peace ambassadors and the likes of media men, pollsters, radio anchormen and show presenters, movie stars and jokers. The NPP on the other hand, is so broke and broken according the the Ndc itself, that they would have the means to even buy campaign vehicles for ther own use, much more to offer a vehicle as bribe to a minster of the Gospel. The ndc tricks are written in plain lines along the story lines that have come up so far concerning Prof. Martey. The fact of the matter is that Prof. Martey is too much for the Ndc and President Mahama. After the Prof's "where are the men of wisdom" tape was first played. And his subsequent pronouncements on the state of Ghana, in his interactions with his congregations. The most logical step left to the failing administration is to muzzle the Man of God, by the offer of money and vehicle as bribe. He rejected both and came out openly to announce it. Shame unto all people who work in the dark to attain glory in the open. It will not work this time around.

Secondly, he alleges he was offered $50,000, what did he do to deserve exactly half the bribe? Why would the moderator split the bribe between himself and his PRO and leave out the others. It looks like this fellow has rather taken some form of inducement to tarnish the image of the moderator. It goes to show how this government is giving away our money freely to friends and cronies. Anyone who should have been criticising this NDC government but hasn't done so would have received such bribes. Kwesi Pratt comes to mind easily. THIS FORMER pPUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER WAS, ACCORDING TO HIS OWN TESTIMONY, "SACKED" BY PROF MARTEY. Yet, although he had this explosive information about Prof Martey taking a bribe from a political party the PRO had warned him not to bring into the church, he said nothing?

A PRO has access to the media! We have to oubt his word, for now he has managed to get his version to the media. Why not before? Of course that does not mean that Prof Martey is blameless. As a man of God and therefore upoholkder of the Truth, why did he not expose the party that attempted to bribe him? Suppose that corrupt party won an election, does he expect it to rule Ghana with integrity? What is the point of broaching the subject without naming and shaming those who wanted to bribe him? Is Prof Martey an empty bell on an ego trip?

The behaviour of both men leaves much to be desired. The Presby Cbhurch deserves better from them.

Something smelled fishy the way Martey and other established Clerics so blatantly took to lambasting the incumbent President and the ruling Party.

We had seen something similar in the past before, especially, when the Catholic Bishop Akwasi Sarpong was often heard to be blasting the Rawlings' Administration in the 90s. But the difference is that it was most unlikely that any Political entity directly solicited for the Bishop's concerted input to put pressure on the Rawlings' Government.

This time, Martey and his cohorts, of whom many suspect to include Mensah Otabil, have shown greater suspicions of their vulnerability to Partisan coercion. And that really undermines the credibility of the Church.

I, for one, have always thought some of the bellicose-sounding critics of the incumbent Government were doing so because their Offertory coffers were badly dwindling under the Administration, given its failure to sustain high level of employment for the Congregants of various Churches to be able to pay their tithes.

Other Clerics were genuinely concerned by the increasingly depressing standards of Living and worsening of our Educational system.

What irks me sometimes about these Clerics, however, is that they hardly say anything while the downtrend begins to show. They do not keep admonishing and inspiring their wealthy Political-leader Congregants to refrain from Corruption. They wait till the Corruption spreads to hit their Offertory.

Meanwhile, Martey is now exposed. Who is next among the Clerics? One would think that the Clerics would organize themselves, or even push the Christian Council, to consult with the Government to find better ways to mitigate the worsening Economic and Educational situation. But no. Instead, the most influential among them have chosen to act independently and be adversarial to the incumbent Government with such financial inducements from the Opposition. And that punches severe holes in our Democratic system.

The Clerics, like Martey, did not have to take such huge monetary inducements to do the Opposition's work for them. It is a very sad day for Ghana, indeed!

More, Martey has disgraced the Presbyterian Church in Ghana. Maybe, his departure from the Moderator position bodes well for the Church. But for now, I cannot see myself touting the leadership of the Church as I used to do in the Past. He has set a deplorable example as a Christian leader and a head of a well established, major Church in Ghana. In fact, this casts a dark shadow on Martey's personal Character, in spite of his Pastoral calling. When this story is compounded with Martey's way of treating the former Presby Moderator now resident in the USA, Dr. Frimpong Manso, one then gets the fuller picture of what Martey's character could really be. May I then inquire if anyone knows the kind of relationship that exists between Prof. Mike Oquaye and Prof. Martey? They both seem to have been sympathizers, or closeted members, of the Ga Shifomo Kpee and the Tokyo Joe Rebels of the 60s.

Folks, this has to teach us all that we ought to temper our aggression with some humility, else we expose our own fallibility as humans.

THAT THE ESSENCE AND THE "SINE QUA NON" OF THESE RELATED WISDOM FOUNDED PRINCIPLE IS HEREIN, AGAIN RE-ECHOED IN THE RELIGIOUS FAITH OF THE BIBLE IN PSALM 133 REALIZING AND ALSO RECOGNIZING THE FREEDOM OF RELIGION AS UNIVERSAL RIGHTS OF THE PEOPLE AND HAVING THE UNDERSTANDING ALSO THAT EVERY FAITH IS BASED UPON THE DIVINE PRINCIPLE OF LOVE, UNITY,PROSPERITY, PEACE AND HEALTHY LONGEVITY OF LIFE/LIVE AND THAT THERE IS NO LAW AGAINST THESE NOBLE DIVINE CARDINAL PRINCIPLES, THERETO.
IT IS THEREFORE MY CONSIDERED HUMBLE SUBMISSION WITH THE KIND PERMISSION TO ALL WHOSE FAITH IS NOT BASED UPON THE BIBLE TO QUOTE THE INTERNATIONAL VERSION OF THE BIBLE OF PSALM 133 AS FOLLOWS:

70% of Scottish exports, including 40% of all Scottish goods and services, go to the rest of the UK. Separation could see trade move less freely, affecting jobs and income.

As a major player in the UN Security Council, NATO and the EU, the UK carries influence through its international alliances and world class armed forces that protect us and generate jobs. The UK spends over £34 billion on defence each year, and 12,500 regular armed forces (8.8% of the UK total) will be based in Scotland by 2020.
Centuries of shared culture, media, sport and arts
The diversity of the UK enriches everything we do – from our academic research and technological innovation to our performing arts – and it means we can invest more in doing it. Scottish communities received one fifth of UK Government money spent improving broadband in rural areas. And the BBC, which receives just over £300 million in licence fees from Scotland each year, spends just under £4 billion on broadcasting in Scotland.

What do we expect the 'little person' down the ladder with family mouths to feed to do in hard times, then? Some may think most of the 'little persons' are the ones whose relative moral superiority has always attracted Divine mercy to keep Ghana still going in Peace.

If the behavior of our Leaders were the only measure of our collective iniquities by which the Almighty might consider to crash us, Ghana would have long been a pile of rubble for survivors to lament over and cite to caution the rest of the World.

What a gross national moral decay! I thought the 'Kalabule' era was going to be our threshold for moral recovery, having experienced the most decadent epoch in our Nation's history till then. But no! We seem to have found ourselves back in the pit again.
Only God knows what it would take to get us out of it.

Surely, it cannot be Akufo-Addo's vision and Presidency. He has been part of the mess, too.

And why the ex PRO kept quiet over this till now is also another issue. I recall him leaking sex scandals of the church though.

OFFICIAL NOTICE TO ALL MEDIA HOUSES/THE GENERAL PUBLIC

Peace be unto you. The General Assembly Council of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana would like to inform all Media Houses/the general public that, Mr. Emmanuel Osei Akyeampong, who used to be the Public Relations Officer (P.R.O) of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, is no longer an employee of the Church. This is as a result of the lawful termination of his appointment as the Public Relations Officer (P.R.O.) of the Church, due to acts of misrepresentation and fraud.

He is making all the attempts to personalize the issues and publish falsehood about individual officers of the church, who are only performing their official duties by virtue of their respective offices, a case in point is what happened on Adorn FM this morning, in which he had presented blatant lies about the Clerk and the Moderator of the General Assembly.

We humbly entreat all Media Houses/the general public to ignore or disregard information sent to you by Mr. Emmanuel Osei Akyeampong, in respect of Officers of the Church.

More importantly, to avoid the tendency of being used by Mr. Emmanuel Osei Akyeampong for any character assassination, defamation of individual officers and the implementation of his malicious plans against the Church of God, we are urging you to be cautious in dealing with him.

Finally, the Presbyterian Church of Ghana would likely to state her total support for the Media Freedom, Media Pluralism and the Media alert in the country today. Hence, our offices are open to all, on future issues or matters of the Church.

However, we would like all media houses to note that the official spokespersons of the Church are the Moderator and the Clerk of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana. Issues relating to public relations should be directed to Rev. Obeng Agyei as the acting P.R.O.

Some of you guys don't understand the system. The Democratic system is such that citizens can demand accountability from the government in power. Unfortunately, the government in power is the same as the party in power. Hence, questioning the ways of the government is automatically directed to the governing party. If I am not a party member of the government in power why should I defend the government or question the opposition which is not operating on tax payers money?
