The diagnosis of prostrate cancer, even if true, is not a death sentence by itself. The crucial question is whether the cancer is malignant or benign at this stage. In fact, many men live normal lives and die with benign prostrate cancer. It is only found out during the post-mortem examination. The PSA test is unreliable and many physicians in the US do not require it. Also early diagnosis is always a huge plus. Nelson Mandela, Bill Cosby, Harry Belafonte...and many others survived Prostrate Cancer. The diagnosis by itself is not a death sentence. Early diagnosis, if the cancer is malignant, increases the chances of cure!

An enlarged prostrate gland in a man, not necessarily cancerous, can lead to a high PSA count. Even cancer patients with PSAs of 300 and above are being successfully treated in the UK to lead decent normal lives.

If this idiot who wrote this nonesense lives in America, then there are Americans that are far below Donald Trump in intellect!

I know Wellington Hospital very well because I lived in the vicinity when I worked in Central London. I would be extremely surprised if they would be that stupid to release such detailed confidentiality material to anybody.

Medical records or news of any person are strictly CONFIDENTIAL and must therefore NOT be put in public domain for any reason without the expressed permission of the individual. This same magazine did a false report on former President Rawlings and now Akufo-Addo.

I will NOT vote for Nana Akufo-Addo but I will also NOT condone any plan by anyone to malign him. He is a human being and deserves respect and treatment.

Where is the Media Commission? This is their job for which they are being paid with my tax money. Why have they fallen asleep on their job? The Minister of Information should kick them in the butt to awaken them to their duties and responsibilities.

I suggest that Nana Akufo-Addo should SUE the magazine without any further delay. I do not care whether the story is true or not. Once they did not seek permission from Nana Addo, he should sue them.

I don't know if John Mahama and Steve Mallory know anything called PHI-Protected Health Information and Doctor-Patient confidentiality in medical practice. A lawsuit, if this story were to be true will actually collapse that institution and the Internist and anybody Mahama and Mallory claim gave them that information.
This is something if Mallory and Mahama had consulted Ezanetor Rawlings she could have told them it was a story that wouldn't fly. Her's father's didn't fly when Mahama did that hit piece on him.

2.0 The kidney failure, is it acute or chronic? That again makes this story interesting. If acute Nana should have been sick by now that he cannot even travel. Chronic? Then he is rich enough to do kidney transplant
3.0 Why go to the extent to describe a medical procedures apparently in detail that you are not conversant with?
4.0 No British Medical Officer will provide such detail information on a patient who is even not a relative because the implications for the physician and the hospital would be very severe.
5.0 The story is too long and boring to read. Is that all the article in the magazine for the month?
Finally this is a diabolical act, which is not beyond DUMSOR DRAMANI MAHAMA to do.

Having said that I think the time has come for African politicians to consider their health as an important issue for their own good.

African politicians love power so much so that they neglect their own health. In doing that they rob their country the ability to serve efficiently and effectively.

It could have been better for NPP not to have elected Akufo-Addo as their presidential candidate after two defeats.

It looks as if there is nobody apart from Akufo-Addo. If this health report is true what would be the implications for the party and the nation. The NDC is a corrupt party and I wish there is another party apart from NPP in Ghana to contest.

I wish similar expose will be done on the 6000 dams in the northern regions of Ghana. Truth be told, both sides are right. A dam is when the flow of a river is interrupted to enable it fill a basin.
It appears what Akufo Addo is proposing is a number of ponds that will serve as collecting vessels during the rainy season. This can be done even by the local communities using "common funds". It all boils down to education and locals having the desire.

Being a qualified nurse myself, I'll say the educational and/or awareness side of this article is very very good and informative. But what disturbs me most is the Human Rights aspect of it. I don't know if Ghana has got the equivalent of the Data Protection Act in the UK. But if they have, shouldn't Akufff Addo has a right to sue the newspaper Africawatch for violation of his Human Rights or privacy? I mean provided what the paper is saying is right. Even if what they are saying are lies, he should be able to get some redress in law. I live in the UK and I don't support any particular political party in Ghana but I X strongly feel that Akuffo Addo's privacy has been infringed. He's not the President so I really don't see the onus on him to declare his medical history. Even Atta Mills who was the President at the time didn't declared his medical condition when he knew he was not healthy. Let's stop playing stupidity some of you call politics. It's called stupidity and immaturity. Whether it's Nana Addo, John Mahama or anybody else, we are all entitled for our privacy. FOOLS.
