  Life itself is a risk. The IGP cannot please every one. The diligent and faithful servant deserves his reward. Let us single out such good policemen but rather shame and punish the bad ones.

  I disagree with Irbard.
  In the first place, every corner of the state is suppose to be protected and secondly promotion is not base on one strict straight jacket performace.

  Some weeks ago my wife's was hit by a trotro and I managed to stop him before the police did, because they were more interested in checking stickers and collecting someones money. because I said so he refused to arrest the trotro driver and instead starting harassing me. I tried to talk some sanity into him and his colleagues as well whilst he pointed at his pistol telling me "you, you don't know what I can do to you". after reporting this obvious threat both officers who witnessed everything swore in-front of their Superior officer that they hadn't seen anything. I KNOW THAT IS VERY COMMON BEHAVIOR AMONG POLICE OFFICERS BUT ARE YOU TELLING ME THAT IS OK ?
  OR LIKE SOME YEARS AGO POLICE OFFICERS PROTECTING THEIR COLLEAGUE WHO IMPREGNATED 2 MINORS IS THAT OK ?

  The practice of promoting police officers for heroic acts that place their very lives in peril in service to the nation has been there for long. It is not to confused nor abused by rewarding policemen who report others for wrong doing. In these circumstances it is emphasized that such reports be confidential and any officer disclosing the identity of the reporter be he a policemen or a civilian would be disciplined. Let us not confuse the issues as this Security expert is doing. In any case transfers are normal and no location is the preserve of some particular policemen, except under exceptional circumstances.
