Eastern Region contributed in no small way to the development of Ghana. Cocoa, diamonds, oil palm, timber and some gold all these from Akyem and cocoa from other parts of the Eastern Region contributed in no small way towards these development projects.

For peace we, need it because no government is going to make Ghana better so long as all employing AGENCIES are government -owned. Too much corruption has prevented the creation of more jobs. We have to privatize more institutions, where you pay more for your service and enjoy what you paid. Not where you pay for electricity and you don't have light. No president can fix this unless privatization. You go to the hospital and pay the money but you don't get to see a doctor, why because they are in their private clinics. Why don't we privatize that to eliminate conflict of interest.

This is a very good call to all Ghanaians. We are fond of undermining state institutions and that is the bane of our troubles. I was surprised at Most Rev. Emmanuel Asante, chairman of the National Peace Council, a man I admire soooo much, attacking the EC in the media. I thought as the chairman, he had the unique privaladge of discussing issues with the EC in private instead of coming public all the time. We behave like a man who always bashes the wife in public and yet expect the best from her. I know very well that my admired Most Rev. Asante felt very bad when this admonishing was made right in his face, so to say. To me he is one of the worst offenders. That not withstanding, I still admire him.

The Yana then, was killed along most of his subjects. Under John Dufour;s NPP, Gbewaa Palace was attacked again leading to the killings of the then sitting Yana and forty of his subjects. Why should Gbewaa Palace always suffer violence under the watch of that demonic and violent political tradition ?This is a mystery the elephants being the off springs of the Busia-Danquah tradition should explain to Ghanaians. Until then are the Dagbons willing to see a repetition of this calamity again? Time will tell!

How come the 'piece' council has never come out with any word of advice for the EC to work towards maintaining the peace in the country, since the EC is a major player in the quest for peace in the country? The 'piece' council has turned out to be a 'piece' of the EC and everything that is non-Ghanaian so far is the December elections are concerned. Ghanains are a peace-loving country, but what we cannot stand is cheating in any form. We love peace and justice, because our national motto says so. But this 'piece' council, headed by our own able minister of the gospel, shy away from that dreaded word justice as if the word is a taboo in their part of \Ghana.
Let us start talking about justice, and peace will overwhelm us. But if the 'piece' council keeps limiting themselves to that single vocab, they will be doing more disservice to the nation than the people they continue preaching to!
Let there be peace, but let there be justice first!

I think the Peace Council and the two Methodist men Rev. Asante and Prof. Asiamah should rather ensure the EC conduct elections that are free, fair, credible and transparent for it to be acceptable to all parties and most importantly, to Ghanaians to exercise the right to choose who should lead them in the governance of the State.
It is the most critical aspect of democracy, because there can never be democracy, when the system is rigged by the very institution tasked with ensuring the credibility of the process when all the evidence suggests so and working in cahoots with the appointing authority to perpetuate that crassness.
That is gross disrespect and disregard for the intelligence of the citizenry in whom power resides in a democracy.
So the onus lies on the EC and not on the masses who are continually calling for free, fair, credible and transparent elections, and this demand by the citizenry, speaks to the credibility and mandate of the EC, which under normal circumstances, shouldn't be in question.
The Peace Council is mis-directing it's efforts and must reorient it's focus on the EC to deliver on it's mandate and on demands by the citizenry to ensure free, fair, credible and transparent elections devoid of any rigging and that is all.
