Revenue mobilization for development goes back to more than 130 years ago. Cocoa, gold, diamonds, bauxite, oil palm, manganese, nickel, timber exports financed development projects.

University of Ghana - 1948
Achimota School
Takoradi Harbor
Tema harbor
etc

Eastern Region contributed in no small way to the development of Ghana. Cocoa, diamonds, oil palm, timber and some gold from Akyem and cocoa from other parts of the Eastern Region contributed in no small way towards these development projects.
