He's just another religious person who uses claims to back up their claims. By using the Bible to Justify his points here make the whole article vague. The bible is no proof for the existence of a God. The bible is only the claim, therefore you can't use your claim to Justify your claims. You need evidence to justify your claim. To say scientist haven't been able to confirm where the "dense mass of matter" came from make it sound as if creationist have been able to prove where "God" came from. The article is full of Bias. Again, the Bible is full of claims and inconsistencies. Because it was written by 44 diff authors in different Generations. It is only foolhardiness for one to think or assume he or she knows or understands perfectly all there is about God or the universe. First, the question of God is not scientific, it is philosophical. Besides, it takes some amount of transcendence to grasp that knowledge. But if you are a person who rejects that there is any transcendence at all, then obviously, you cannot understand who God is because He is not physical. It takes humility and not braggadocio steeped in scientism to know Him. I used to be one until I came across this quote "claiming to be wise, they became fools (Rom. 1:22). If we don't understand something, we need to be humble enough to ask others who are familiar with the topic. It does no good to us by simply dismissing it as nonsense. Our dismissal of the issue does not negate the fact about it. Finally, let us not make that mistake that Science is the only legitimate form of knowledge or explanation. Philosophy, Logic, Sociology, Anthropology, Archaeology History, Literature, Theology, Geography etc. are all equally legitimate forms of knowledge that offer some explanation about reality. On top of that, when we read, let us do well to read in context. Cherry picking kind of reading does not only lead to intellectual dishonesty but also ends up in self-absorption.

From the above since man created God as an illusion, God and supernatural forces are just ideas and not reality. Evolution and human history have revealed that our world pass through a lot of process during billion of years and man himself has passed through a lot of processes for many years from the stage of primitive life to the stage of knowledge and creator of weapons of labour.

Based on such argument, everything is simply reduced to matter and energy; totally determined, mindless, purposeless, random and therefore meaningless. If that is the case, why bother make such statement because it is just arbitrary; it carries no meaning. If evolution (macro and not micro/genetics) is true, science as a field used often by God doubters and haters to disprove the existence of God in itself is a joke, a fallacy and an exercise in futility. The reason being that, evolution does not allude to a mind, intelligence, judgement and transcendence which are all qualitative elements existing outside of matter and energy. As a thinking human being, I just can't buy such line of reasoning. I don't have enough faith to tow that line.

It is simply a choice and that is the beauty of humanity; the ability to exercise our free will. If someone believes the opposite of what you believe, accord him some respect as a human. Also, as a christian, I do not run to the Bible always for answers to everything. E.g. I don't read the Bible to know that rape, murder, theft etc. are wrong. My conscience, and I hope yours as well, tell us so. I do also read history, literature, philosophy, archaeology, physics, biology etc books to gain understanding about reality. The Old Testament however existed even before the birth of Christ. Note that, the age of something cannot solely be used to authenticate its accuracy. Ananse stories are old too but it doesn't mean they are factual. Indians have many stories that are very old about their gods but they don't claim them to be historically factual. They consider most of them as allegories of human life useful for teaching morals. For your information, Europeans were once pagan worshipers e.g. the Romans and Greeks. But many of them over time converted to faith in the God of Israel after hearing the evidence for Him. The Newtons, Galileos, Copernicus and Pasteur all believed in this God, yet, they were top scientists. When an African does the same, he or she is branded as a slave of colonization. Had it not being the influence of Christianity in our part of the world, many of us possibly would have been victims of human sacrifice, slavery or tribal wars. Read your history and you will appreciate what you are kicking against.

I am a practicing scientist, yet, I believe in God just like Isaac Newton, Louis Pasteur, Galileo, Copernicus and many others did and still do. You see, there is no contradiction there. Our ability to reason and understand process behind something does not rule out the element of agency. E.g. Our ability to understand the mechanism behind a Mercedes Benz does not rule out the fact that it was invented by Karl Benz. We can use science to provide an explanation to how things work but it can't "scientifically" or objectively answer the question whether they were created or happened by chance unless we introduce some aspect of subjective reasoning such as theology or theory of evolution. But I have chosen to subscribe to the former because based on the evidences it presents, it makes more sense to me as a rational, thinking being and not a cynic. Unlike what you seem to assume or suggest about all folks who believe in God that, because we do not understand something, therefore, God did it. Well, I don't belong to that category - I am not part of the "god of the gaps club". Rather, I acknowledge that, I have a rational mind that can know and understand truth if I exercise it. Such mind, in all my experience of life can only reasonably come from an intelligent, rational being (being because inanimate objects cannot reason or create). And that being, I call God. Actually that is the foundation of modern science and most disciplines as well (Examine Newton's Principia Mathematica). There is no better foundation out there. Evolution does not even come close. Have you heard about Darwin's doubt? You can read more about it later but I can start you off with this. It was captured in Darwin's letter to W. Graham in 1881: “But then with me the horrid doubt always arises whether the convictions of man's mind, which has been developed from the mind of the lower animals, are of any value or at all trustworthy. Would any one trust in the convictions of a monkey's mind, if there are any convictions in such a mind?”
In spite of all that I have said, I humbly accept that I am still a student of life; I don't know it all.
