No all they need is God. The rate at which Ghanaians drive carelessly and the nature of our bad roads no matter how good you will be protected if one crash with big truck as a dispatch rider you will die except God is on your side but I still insist mahama has used him for power rituals which he has failed.

Shallow minded Old Man. Have u thought the driver might have a medical condition? So narrow minded no wonder our country is on the downhill.

You are not serious my friend- Ghanaian drivers are the most notorious and unprofessional drivers I have ever come across. If you have medical issue, just pull-over. It's just stupidity

Old soldier why do you politicize everything? Instead of you to express words of condolence to the bereaved families and caution our drivers to drive with caution, look at what you are saying.

Old soldier, it's is shameful that all you got out of this tragic incident is the foolishness spewing out of your foolish mouth. There are families in REAL PAIN AND DESPAIR here and some how you find a way to politicize this horrific incident and to top things off you claim there to be some ""rituals" at work. That is the go to answer for the closed minded. And then you go on to foolishly say .... unless God is on your side. What makes you think Gid is on on the side of those who perished? Have you not heard the phrase "God works in mysterious ways"? His ways are not always understood by man but it does not make it any less his work. Just because you can say and or write something does not mean you should, YOU JACKASS!

I was almost crushed together with my girlfriend by one of those stupid truck drivers. They bully everybody on the road. they have no patience and are always ready to remind you of the size of their truck. He's very lucky he wasn't lynched at the scene. May those who lost their lives rest in peace!

Yours is very true. However, isn't everybody down there driving like crazy? I for one will lay the blame squarely at the door of the authority designated to enforce the traffic rules and regulation before the reckless extravagance which has turned most of our roads into imminent deathtraps down there. May their souls meet our heavenly father tenderly.

DusTY-FooT, you jlhit the nail right on the head. Most of this blame for dangerous driving in Ghana falls on the shoulders of the licensing bodies and the department of transportation if one even exists in Ghana. One can simply bribe their way to secure a driver's license in Ghana. People who cannot read and or write have licenses, I know 4 such people. When I talk to them about how dangerous it is for the to drive without the proper training they simply say the experience will come with time. People buy licenses in Ghana and there are so many vehicles on the road that are not even close to being road worthy yet the police still collect bribes on the roadside and then set them free. I have seen this for myself. Also, it's almost unfashionable to wear a seat belt in Ghana, that's if the car is equipped with properly functioning seat belts. It's a shame but people charged to keep us safe are paid so infrequently that they take bribes to circumvent their jobs; not excusing their behavior but explaining why it happens.

A few years back during one of my trips, I told my dad if nothing is done to curtail that madness on our roads down there, more could sadly lose their lives unnecessarily as the roads slowly improve with time. I keep reminding him any time I hit Akwaabaland to date. In fact, this conversation between my dad and I came about when I handed the keys to my car to him to drive instead of me driving myself through that chaotic system that they called normal cruising down there.
No priority from one's right at intersections, barely obeying traffic lights, zebra-crossing is a killing zone, over-speeding in and around urban centres their religion, overtaken haphazardly their motivation and drink driving their passion, all these troubling statistics under a hopeless regulatory system called traffic laws down there since there is barely a genuine enforcer left standing.
I don't always feel safe when I travel on any of those roads down there.

no mercy, he must lose his life. medical doctors make a mistake and they a charged with negligence, malpractice, malfeasance etc; drivers irresponsibly kill over 20 people and all we do is jail them 6months.
someone should tell all the security experts in ghana i say if they don't ranked road traffic accidents the no.1 security threat in ghana then they don't know security!
