IT IS SURPRISING HOW FAR GHANAIANS CAN STRETCH THE NOTION OF FREE SPEECH. SO FAR, NO ONE HAS EXPLAINED IN DEPTH THE MEANING OF SLANDER OR CONTEMPT OF COURT. I THINK WE SHOULD BE GRATEFUL TO GOD THAT CIVIL PERSONS ALWAYS STEP IN TO PLEAD FOR US WHEN WE FALL FOUL OF THE LAW. WE SHOULD ALSO BE THANKFUL TO GOD THAT GHANAIANS DO NOT SEEM TO TAKE OFFENSE EASILY WHEN THEY ARE MALIGNED IN PUBLIC FOR NO JUST CAUSE. OUR WORRIED FRIENDS MAY TRULY BE REPENTANT, BUT SOMEBODY WARN THEIR SO-CALLED 'CONCERNED FRIENDS' NOT TO PUT THEM IN TROUBLE. THE LAW HAS TEETH, PARTICULARLY WHEN A 'LEARNED' PERSON FEELS THREATENED OR INSULTED. KWAKU HAS SPOKEN WISELY.

We are all praying the court to jail these people for the safety of the judges lives and also to serve as a deterrent to others. If the judges feel that only a slap on the wrists of these would-be assassin's is enough to guarantee their safety, then that's up to them. We can only pray that we don't wake up one morning to sing "had I known" as a chorus.

Kwaku, I disagree strongly with you. Their posture, demeanour and actions were very deporable and utterances very threatening to the Supreme Court judges. It's our attitude of always asking for pardon for culprits that's why we never learn as nation.
People do commit crimes and then lo and behold, elders in society - preachers, older citizens, etc. rush to ask for pardon for the perpetrators. Such actions do not let people learn from the consequences of their evil actions, for after all if they commit a crime, they'll get a reprieve following interventions by our elders.
It's high time such recalcitrants/criminals are punished so others will be deterred from acting in similar manner in this country.
The judges should go ahead and jail them! Remember 3 judges and an ex-army officer lost their lives on 30th June 1982? Such threats should not be taken for granted.
We must respect the rule of law in this country!!!!!! For so long we have abused our constitution and it's time the law must be made to bite!!!
Long live mother Ghana!!!
