Ashanti Regional CEPS meets revenue target in just 6 months

The Ashanti Regional office of the Customs, Excise and Preventive Services (CEPS) division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has exceeded its annual target in the first half of the year 2016.

Mr. Akwasi Ahiakpor, Regional Boss who disclosed this while explaining operational performance in an interview with The Chronicle said his outfit was allocated an annual target of GHc 285.640 million to be collected by the close of work on December 31, 2016. Fortunately the target has been met within six months.

“By dint of hard work Ashanti Region had collected GHc 297.195 as at the close of work on June 30, 2016 exceeding its annual target by 11.555% in six months, Mr. Ahiakpor said.

Sounding dedicated and committed to his work as head of Customs, Mr. Ahiakpor expressed the hope that, he and his personnel are more than determined to collect same from July to December 31, 2016 to make it 100% over-collection to set the pace for others to follow.

He also entreated other public officials to also emulate their efforts and commitment especially those holding leadership positions in the public sector to ensure that the institutions work to help achieve resilient economy to benefit the citizenry who entrusted them in such positions because nation building is a shared responsibility of all.
