Big lie!!! The exploration activities carried out in the 1960s indicated the presence of oil shows and not "large oil and gas deposits"

To tackle a few, the Volta Basin well known as "The Voltaian " isn't in the Volta region as some have commented here, rather it's a sedimentary basin made up of sedimentary/stratified rock lithology, formations and Groups that stretches over 2/3 of Ghana's land mass.
The Voltaian just like any other basin has potential for hosting "Hydrocarbons" the very compound that constitutes Crude oil or biogas (Petroleum).
Given the Geology and the conditions at the Voltaian, one can only but share a positive anticipation of the potential for the presence of Hydrocarbons.
Reviewed literatures indicates oil shows but we would need a much more open minded approach when exploring the Voltaian for the main reason being the Voltaian is a different terrane compared to other basins (offshore basins). Proper use of Geophysics, Structural Geology and Sedimentology/Stratigraphy would give a boost in any exploration exercise out there and hopefully we would get a positive feedback.
I hope young Ghanaian skilled minds would be engaged in the exploration exercise so as to create jobs for the young Geologists and Engineers at home who are awaiting such opportunities to put their good skills to fruition .
Cheers,

I believe our generation needs a mind revolution. It's incumbent on us not only to act responsibly but to also think responsibly.
There are lots of us out there looking out for opportunities to develop ourselves, contribute our quota and make a difference when given the chance yet non. So we anticipate that the handlers of such projects would engage the services and skills of the youth (Graduates).
Ghana is blessed with a lot of skilled labour forces wasting away in their Parent's homes and awaiting such avenues to make themselves relevant.
One can only but hope he's given an opportunity when available.
Some of us have extensive Geological knowledge and data on the " Voltaian " (Volta basin).
