After almost sixty years of independence we still look to IMF and others to come show us how to manage our affairs.
Factories in every district is not far fetched be it fufu, matches or tooth picks factories?. What is far fetched about some enterprising person organizing gathering of palm oil producers in a district and packaging it and branding it for sale? That is a factory! Think about it? What is not feasible about turning our Agro produce into products with longer shelf lives. Because a politician floats the policy does not mean Government had to fund it? All Government has to do is create the environment whereby entrepreneurs will risk capital and efforts to take initiatives to set up the factories.
We are willing to offer tax incentives for foreigners to set up factories instead of encouraging our local enterprises . Why because a local may not pay a bribe for support while a Lebanese will?
If you care to know small enterprises like the fufu factories Mr Pratt laughed at were
the foundation of industrial progress for countries that have developed. Read about how Britain, America, Singapore, South Korea, etc industrialized and you will realize that their foundations were based on local small factories.
You and the likes of Kwasi Pratt whose brains are are still operating in the 20th century need to understand that Government sponsored factories like Komenda sugar factory are wonderful but usually unstainable economically. They are nice for politics. Only the military industrial complexes that has no profit motive are sustainable. So if we want Government sponsored factories to create jobs we must as such go into armaments research and production!
It is sad you and Pratt and other propagandist misconstrued Nana Addo 's speech. What he said was if we can stabilize our currency, finances and creat the right environment we will establish 1 factory for each district. From a policy standpoint it means his government economic policies will enable the establishment of factories in each district. That is not far fetched Mr Obuamah the strategist!
What you, Pratt and NDC propagandist are spewing are just hog wash. Just say you don't like the messenger and not the CAN DO idea he is proposing just like SHS idea of the last election cycle which was critized by ND C but later adopted . So no one is Nuts for proposing Fufu factories. May be you are the nut job? How we think as people is everything. Roofing tiles, pavement block, quarry and sand stone production, waste recycling, compost production, industrialised farming, food processing factories from the farms, dairy processing from the farms, cheese factories from the farms, metal works factories to produce farm tools from recycled waste metals, cement factories, plastic making factories from our petroleum by-products, soap making factories, artisans and craft making factories, pharmaceutical factories, chemical factories, IT hubs etc etc.

You see, I can go on and on. And please, please don't tell it is impossible to do any of those listed above.

That is why we need a change in change. We need to bring in people who can think it is possible and people like you and Pratt

Hey there is nothing wrong to favor the NDC but do not pretend you are a fair and balanced journalist . Better declare who you are for instead of creating the imperession of journalistic independence. No one is fooled. I listened to the whole program and while I won't condone Nana B's attack on you, (it was not gentlemanly and was uncalled for) but, I like most people who listen to your commentaries on political issues on the various media outlets know where your sympathies lie as to party affiliations.
Your reaction to Nana B's tirade was equally very low class ! As they say if argue with a stupid person, he wins.
There are two types of journalist : those who are cowards and unprincipled and are willing to sell their conscience; or the brave and principled types who will speak the truth without favor of sides.
The choice of how you want to be perceived is yours. Pretense can be a fatal character defect.
I admired Chief Biney on his reaction to his harsh critics who commented on his presentations on the program. He took negative comments humorously because he knows they come with the territory. He was there to push NDC's view point and did not loose his cool. Know as a talking head you cannot be thin- skinned.
