Start being an effective opposition instead of stating the glaringly obvious to Ghanaians - that the NDC is watering down the bribery allegations against the president.

The average Ghanaian will expect the NDC to water down the bribery allegations against John Mahama. It is good politics.

I will be sacking the entire communication team and propaganda machinery if I was president and got nothing less than watering down from my team.

It is up to the Opposition party to do a great job by convincing Ghanaians that the president was wrong in accepting the gift. It is not down to the NDC. in fact, the contrary is expected of the NDC - watering down. It is good politics.

What I am observing is an abysmal failure by the opposition party, especially the NPP, to receive this very laudable gift of faux pas from the president. I am quite frankly disappointed that the NPP has not been able to make inroads in their electioneering campaign from this lapse by the president.

It is perhaps time for the NPP to start 'watering up' the allegations instead of complaining about a very effective response from the NDC on the allegations against the president. We need an effective opposition who can rise to the challenge of convincing Ghanaians that they are a better alternative to the NDC. Nothing so far has convinced a sizeable cross section of Ghanaians as yet. 2016 is NPP's election to lose. They have so far disappointed.

Stop crying wolf and take advantage of the opportunity presented to you on a silver platter.

Convince Ghanaians that the President was wrong. That should be your prerogative. what is the point making noise about it if you fail to convince the electorate to cross over to an opposition party because of these allegations?
I am not in support of any particular party.
I am just disappointed that the opposition is not exploiting this allegation effectively.

Seriously, I am not sure what the opposition has up it's sleeve but if they continue to allow the ruling party such breath of space to wriggle themselves out of every trouble then my money will be on another third term for them. The current litany of corruption charges is enough fodder for any serious opposition to set the agenda and tip the scales hugely in their favour. The vast majority of Ghanaians are currently suffering and it will be an affront on our intelligence and dignity to see this country sink before our very eyes.

So you think the average resident of Oforikrom will vote against the president for accepting a ford explorer gift on behalf of the country? That is what the Presidential spokesperson said and a lot of Ghanaians believe the president.

Gift taking is pervasive in Ghana. It is even embedded in our cultural practices. so do you really expect people to vote the president out for doing what they themselves would have done?

If we consider the gifts Asantehene, or other chiefs for that matter, received for witnessing land sale in the Ashanti region, the list will stretch right to the doorsteps of hell.

Ghanaians are simply very forgiving when it comes to bribe/gift taking. They simply do not perceive it as a crime let alone punishable.

Ghanaians are more likely to reject a presidential candidate for supporting homosexual views than for stealing the entire wealth of Ghana.

So stop campaigning on the wrong campaign message and start campaigning on matters that Ghanaians really give two monkeys about.

Common sense would have dictated that if the ruling Communist Party was organising a programme and wanted to invite foreign dignitaries, they would have invited fellow social democrats and not right-leaning party. Moreover, they wont be inviting opposition parties, rather they will invite officials of government. Koo Bawumia actually went there to solicit for funds. What was the nature of awards he went to present? Did he go there to promise them the sale of the Atwiwa forest and the entire Akyem land for galamsay? Go ahead and continue tickling yourselves, NPP.
