Readers would recall that Betty Mounds was the one who awarded SCHOOL building contracts at a triple price of the existing contract sum of some GH 80,000.00. And this happened at a time when they claim inflation was in the single digits. Could you imargin how foolish these criminal liars were. Kuffour built similar structures with 80,000 at a time when inflation was around 14.8% and under Mills it was 240,000 at a rate of 8.8%. And these buffoons turn around to blame the fall of the cedi on some mysterious dwarfs. Surely, Ghana has an immensely deep problem with corruption that stinks to high heavens. But it did not just start infecting the top hierarchy of our Political echelon. Many instances of similar corrupt behavior have been recorded for our previous Presidents, including NPP's only illustrious President. The last thing the Party would like is to resurrect uproar on those incidents which never saw any serious examination to determine their real impact on the Nation.

Folks with broken egg shells under their feet must not denounce others jumping on a pile of the same, some sage once told me.

Gaddafi gave Ghana a Mercedes in the name of Ghana which can be found in the president's car pool. Kufuor did not take that car away as his private property. In this care, the contractor said that he gave the car to Mahama as a gift. So the difference is clear but NDC is trying to change that to be part of the car pool which cannot hold because the documents of the car is in the name of Mahama and not the state of Ghana.

Also, what wounds are you talking about? Mahama's gave code of ethics to his ministers and all governments appointees not to accept any gift value more than 200 cedis so what about him? Why isn't he holding himself to that code of ethics?

No wonder they have a position for PropagandaSecretary. They are very good in it. The NDC in government has performed horribly poor. They have adopted methods to hoodwink the less informed knowing too well the country is challenged in that area. Until now I have been sympathetic towards the party but I have noticed they lack ideas in managing this country. I believe the country deserves better and if we should leave the fate of this country in the hands of this bankrupt in ideas group of people, the worse we shall be.
Like the computer some of us are interested in the physical component which we usually call the hardware. It is the part of the computer we see with our eyes but unfortunately not the most important. The NDC has been exploiting this analogy in elections. They have realized many of our brothers and sisters who are not intellectually endowed have the appetite for the physical so they have exploited it by engaging in the provision of infrastructure as the mark of good governance. The Mahama led administration has proved that infrastructure do not guarantee a healthy economy for that matter better living conditions for the people. With the claim they have provided the most infrastructure, we all see the debilitating living conditions we find the country; high interest rates, high inflation, high exchange rate.
The NPP on the other hand appreciates policies which give healthy and better living conditions. We cannot forget the many Poverty Alleviating interventions like NHIS, School Feeding program and many others which the government introduced. Surprisingly, this is a party which is touted as property owning and care less about the poor whiles the NDC which boast they are social democratic and associates of the poor and under privileged cannot fathom what these people need.
The provision of infrastructure does not necessarily guarantee access. One needs to have the means to be able to access the services provided. The means can only be generated if government is able to create the enabling environment for the citizens to generate the required wealth. In case a landlord is demanding rent, will the infrastructure pay for the rent advance?
The NPP also considers very dearly policies which engenders healthy economy and better living conditions. Policies which facilitate low interest rates, low exchange rates and low inflation rates are of paramount importance. Any government which wants to see the realization of Article 36 of the Constitution will pursue the above stated policies. Governments which are fixated with infrastructure to the detriment of sound economic management want to engage in corruption. Most of the corruption instances in our history happen in the award of contracts. In the award of contracts prices are bloated to the detriment of the state whiles individuals get enriched in the process.
Any government which claimed like the Mahama led administration of providing many infrastructure projects than any government has been deeply bathed in corruption more than any government in the history of this country. Corruption events are secret activities which do not happen in the open for people to see. It is like sexual activity. The fact that nobody saw it does not mean it did not occur. The controls in our system are not as strong as we see in the advanced systems and politicians usually exploit the loopholes.
The NPP believe in the software by the analogy of the computer. This is the most critical. The capacity of the computer is not determined by the huge physical hardware. The unseen part does the most complicated work in the computer. It is like the spirit in the human being.
Ghanaians should wake up to the tricks of the NDC and be alive to their responsibilities. It is only informed people who are mostly able to take the right decisions. One major difference between the advanced economies and the less advanced economies is the level of enlightenment. Education plays very critical role in realizing this. A Ghana with majority of enlightened persons will not tolerate the Mahama style of administration which is comfortable with the provision of infrastructure and physical things

Such thinkers of wisdom of PC Ofori,s caliber are the best people who can help our country to enjoy peace, stability and prosperity but not the stomach politicians and their ardent supporters who do not have anything to offer except inciting violence.
