Nana, You are right ! Privatisation of Electricity, Water and other Public Utilities is the best way to run our dear country Ghana. This is because Ghanaians think in the old Colonial way that these services should be provided free of charge. The private sector will collect from the Ministries, schools and institutions, hospitals and all others for the use of these services which presently they have them free. The government simply cannot afford to buy the oil to fire the plants to produce power if we do not pay for them. Something has to be done and the solution is TO GET PRIVATE COMPANIES TO OPERATE THEM. THIS SHOULD EVEN EXTEND TO THE COLLECTION OF TAXES. PRIVATE DEBT COLLECTORS HOULD COLLECT TAXES ON COMMISSION BASIS INSTEAD OF GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES WHO COLLUDE WITH THE TAX PAYERS TO DENY THE GOVERNMENT THE TAXES IT SHOULD GET AND THEN GO BACK TO THE SAME TAX PAYERS TO SHARE THE AMOUNT NOT PAID TO THE GOVERNMENT.
