  I grow up seeing this all the time. The danger is that, they forget about their own problems and get too involved in the families of their congregation, tearing them apart with their know all attitude. They are reason Christianit is dying in Ghana.

If you want to write, then just write about the whole sermon instead of this mischievous way of bits and pieces. I wonder what the intention of the writer is with this piece. #smh

  There is no licence for a pastor's child ( or children of anybody)to go wayward because the parents are hypocrites. The children of Kora saw it all that their father sinned and was swallowed up into the earth but they lived to worship the Lord. Each one shall bear his own consequences of sin.

  In the 21st Century statements such as this should be backed by hard core evidence gleaned from empirical research. It is only attention seekers who make such illogical statements. I know a lot of people whose parents either mum or dad are pastors yet they live impeccable lives just as the the children of some atheists I know. The children of pastors are just like any other children in Ghana if they fail to live to your expectation, it is not because their parents are hypocrites.

  I think it is all about control and domination of their congregation and nothing else.

  Funny thing is always the use of the word "sometimes" after which a sweeping and authoritative statement is made which does not allow room for other possibilities.

  Funny thing is always the use of the word "sometimes" after which a sweeping and authoritative statement is made which does not allow room for other possibilities.

  1. the devil attacks
  2. Hypocrisy
  3. The kids get bored with church
  4. Peer pressure and a lack of spiritual teachings from the pastor and family
  5. Setting unnecessary high spiritual standards for the child to follow simply because his dad is an osofo.
  
  I'm sure there are still a couple out there that folks can share.
  
  Bottomline is pastors be vigilant and ask for GRACE even as you work on YOURSELVES and YOUR FAMILIES.

  i guess i concur with the venerable preacher to a large extent and so pastors should take note and act accordingly...however, i also equally believe that the devils does attack children in general as a way of detracting their pastor fathers from discharging their Godly and priestly duties...: i also holds the view that these children usually become victims of a world that hardly shares their believes and value systems outside the home and this negativity is so overwhelming and strong and which is the larger world outside the home. and this is the children's circle of friends in the neighborhood, the school etc..
  Hear what scripture says about not getting yoke with undesirable elements as when we do we pick their awful habits and character...psalm 1:1 aptly captures it quite succintly thus : blessed are those who walks NOT in the counsel of the godly nor stands in the path of sinners nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful:..but delights in the law of the LORD....unfortunately most people including children spends a bigger proportion of their wake life outside the home and so our habits, xter and value and moral system get shaped and developed by influences and believe systems that is largely beyond our control and is that found outside the home. adults and more particularly children are therefore more susceptible and easily subdued to such influences nevertheless..

  Well-spoken but it is not the whole story. The prophet Samuel was upright but his children's behaviour were the reason why Israel chose to have kings over them instead of prophets. There is something else.

  It's not the case all the time. Some pastors are too busy with Gods work that they neglect their own children. The children are crying for help so the go wayward.. God help us and grant us the wisdom we need.
