Why would anyone in their right mind borrow a colossal amount of money to revamp a factory first before planning how to get the raw materials to feed it adequately, which would usually take 2 to 3 years or more to realise? Who pays for the 2-3years plus of interest and the additional cost of maintaining a more or less idle factory? Since sugarcane is a seasonal product, stocks of sugarcane are required to keep the factory running especially during the lean season. Are there any wise people in government?

The thinking is that, in an election year, ECG overbilling its customers would make it easy for the main opposition to come to power. But in deliberately escalating electricity bills to help the opposition gain power, the ECG has virtually committed suicide.
It is a sign of great incompetence to blame an innocent software or meter for being responsible for overbilling their customers as if the softwares and meters programme themselves. Instead, the case of ECG's incompetence is the easiest thing to prove and they are unable to convince anyone that they are actually competent.
