Which countries have the most out of work college graduates? According to a recent OECD report, the unemployment rate for people with a third level education in Greece is just under 20 percent. Indeed, many of the countries with the highest rates of graduate unemployment across the world have been badly affected by the global financial crisis.
Spain also has a significant amount of unemployed graduates. The most recent figure places it directly behind Greece with an unemployment rate of 14.9 percent. Turkey rounds off the top three with 7.7 percent while Italy and Ireland come fourth and fifth with 7 and 6.7 percent respectively.
At the opposite end of the scale, 4.1 percent of US college graduates are out of work, slightly ahead of Japan’s rate of 3.2 percent. Norway has the lowest graduate unemployment rate of all OECD nations with just 1.8 percent of its third level educated population unemployed.
And you lot keep saying socialism is bad yet Socialist Norway doesn"t seem to have a problem.

These senseless leaders! They are comfortably employed in the civil service and they just open their mouths and spew out this "entrepreneur" bullshit...forgetting that you just don't get up and become an entrepreneur. If I may ask, how many of the professor's children are entrepreneurs? The earlier our leaders realised not everyone can be an entrepreneur, the better. How many of our courses and programmes in school are entrepreneurial based? Where then do they get the skills? See the hurdle undergrads go through just to secure attachment opportunities so they gain some work experience. I know a lot of students who cudnt go for attachments just because they were denied the opportunities by the institutions they applied to. Where do they develop the skills then? Let's suppose they even had the skills; the question is, "is the skill the only thing needed to start a business?". Hell no! You need a place(or space) to work, starting materials and tools...in short, you need some capital. And where is this capital if you are from a poor home with no hope of any assistance from your extended family? And mind u all, getting into business is a risk u take...you could end up gaining, losing or the enterprise collapsing totally. In the case where a new graduate has the skills and some little capital and sets into business with his money and supposing the business collapses, what becomes of him. We may end up recording a lot of suicide cases because at this point in time, a lot of businesses which have been in existence for years and have much experiences are even collapsing. Stop discouraging the youth with these entrepreneurial bullshit. There are some graduates who have the skills and the capital..and also relatives to support them back on track if business should even go bad(like this professor's children); guide them into self-employment. There are also those who lack that kind of support; provide a channel for them to gain employment so they get the experience, skills and some capital before talking them into becoming "entrepreneurs". I rest my case.

Why would I hire a graduate who is half educated? The education system had lowered the quality of graduates and so hiring them is a drag.
The education system must add quality marterials and marry academia with industry by making sure students go on internships to ensure students know what's expected of them before they graduate. Currently the problem with our students is; they have no clue what industry expects of them and cone as virgins to be paid and trained by industry so bo one wants to hire green horns.
Students exposed to industry perform better in the classroom because they can see how relevant their courses are in real life and they can be given projects to research on for industry whilst they are back in school.
Our education system is dry without funding from industry, and academic performance leave out other values like time management, recreational management and sports etc that makes students complete
