What the fuck is Ato Forson talking about saying government has no intention of taxing both pension and allowances. This revelation is not a rumours coming from Mr Bond or Dr Bawumia but coming from NDC finance minister own mouth that by the orders from President John Dramani Mahama he should tax pension and allowances.Frankly speaking Mr Seth Terkper has no power or locus to instigate taxes unless it comes from his boss president John Dramani Mahama before he instigate such move so what the fuck is this know nothing coming to deceive Ghanaians that government has not intention to tax pension and allowance.Maybe Ato Forson is confuse and hallucinating thinking he is serving phantom government from another planet.

Bawumia's "Voodoo" Economic Analysis adopted by Kuffour is resposible for the economic challenges facing the country now.
All those lambasting Ato for saying the obvious are pathetic NPP supporters whose brains have deserted them for animal brains such that they behave like a pack of wolves each time somebody criticizes their Party. The fact that some of you are characterizing him as, "Dumb accountant, unqualified accountant, failed accountant, South University graduate, failed BECE etc, etc" show your envy about this young Chartered Account. Yes, he may have worked as a "protection master" for the London Underground as a student to supplement what he was receiving from home because unlike your Flagbearer who flunked all his exams except for the 3rd class degree Legon threw at him, and who is the only lawyer in the whole world without a classmate and certificate, Ato's parents aren't rich. Ghanaian and other foreign students in Ato's position do it unless they're illicit drug dealers or are content with wiping whitepeople's "behind"--like most of you who organized the failed demonstrations abroad against the President do. Dr. Nduom for example, bagged groceries. Unlike you empty barrels however, Ato is quiet and unassuming. The fact that he is now joining the fray of what has become the staple of that academically dishonest economist with a spotty record doesn't make him any less knowledgeable. But I dare anybody to visit this young man’s constituency to see what this unassuming young man’s vision has transformed the lives of ordinary folks through the use of his Common Fund because of his common sense approach, personal integrity and British bulldog-tenacity at a time when majority of MPs use theirs as an extension of their personal income and/or use them frivolously.
The so called economic miracle under Kuffour for which praises are being showered on Bawumia as some whiz kid was really an economic disaster cushioned by the massive doses of foreign aid, most of which were even misapplied, showered on the administration as an act of faith in the country for transitioning into "Democracy" since the election-losing NDC had always been regarded in Western Capitals as an extension of PNDC and therefore undemocratically elected.
What government with alleged economists of international repute would think that removing four zeroes at the end of a currency appreciates the currency? For example, did goods costing ¢200,000 cost GH¢20 after the redenomination? Did items selling for ¢200 sell for GH¢0.02 or two pesewas after the redenomination? Certainly no. Prices and costs shot up. If this wasn't inflation, then I don't know what it was. But, that’s what Bawumia did! And then to cushion themselves against this, Kuffour, Bawumia, and Kuffour's inner circle stole lots of the newly-minted currency. Finally, they camouflaged the extraordinarily weakened Cedi as a result of the measures above by supporting it with freed-up money as a result of some foreign debt forgiveness and the payment moratorium on majority of our foreign debts which should've gone into infrastructure development. The result? The bloated Cedi which at some point was even stronger than the US Dollar, made imports cheaper than their local counterparts. The cheaper imports spelt the demise of local industries because the locally manufactured goods weren't patronized enough. One of the industries that suffered the most was the livestock industry. As a result of which Ghanaians couldn’t afford fresh beef and chicken—and even plantain had to be imported from Ivory Coast. Kuffour's government even had the gall to import textile products from China for the corruption-riddled Ghana@50 celebrations at a time when Ghanaian textile factories were either laying off employees or closing down! That was NPP with Kuffour, Osafo Marfo and DOCTOR BAWUMIA! As if this wasn't enough, this Dream Team showed a total lack of understanding of the consequences of dumb economic policies in the present Global Economy on the BBC "Have Your Say" program when Kuffour gave unbelievably stupid reasons for not supporting local industries whereas if he was well informed, he would've known that the so called capitalist societies supported, and still support, local industries in one way or the other.
To hide the real costs of this misguided economic policy, Kuffour, at the behest of Bawumia and others, jettisoned a more reliable economic index replaced it with a less reliable one. The revised economic figures gave the country favorable ratings but like the Enron Corporation during the energy crises, the country was worse off. By the time the NDC assumed office, there was nothing in the kitty. So when the time came for the country to resume its external financial obligations, the NDC government struggled but pride prevented it from seeking the needed financial assistance earlier until the situation became untenable with the drop in commodity prices.
With the “about-face” financial assistance Mahama's administration has sought from abroad, it has embarked on infrastructure development reminiscent of Kwame Nkrumah’s days even though some myopic so-called opinion leaders including Bawumia and Rev Otabil are criticizing him for “mortgaging” our resources because this initiative isn't coming from their parties.
Internally, Kuffour presided over what has so far been the most corrupt administration in the nation's history. Huge sums of monies were paid locally and abroad for services and goods to non-existent companies fronted by NPP supporters. Of course, the goods and services were never supplied. Entitlement programs such as the NHIS and the School Feeding Program which were supposed to benefit ordinary folks also became conduits for siphoning funds to friends and families as government contributions were sometimes paid in cash and paper trails were either intentionally destroyed or vague information provided. It was also under Kuffour that “Ghost names” became a standard feature in public payrolls. One only has to read the Auditor-General's Reports for the eight years under NPP for one to gauge the enormity of the corruption. Kuffour made sure this Report wasn’t widely circulated for ordinary Ghanaians to see his thievery. Mahama has done the opposite. The Report is now available to ordinary Ghanaians to see things for themselves.
Mahama isn't perfect but he is doing far better by scrutinizing the public payroll and purging it of ghost names, exposing corruption and fighting it either administratively or using the courts.
In bilateral relations, Mahama has proved he can be trusted to seek the country's instead of personal interests unlike Kuffour who in one swoop ensured his cronies like Abel Edusei would benefit at the expense of the country as long as the COSMOS Agreement remains in place.
When people wax about the "Golden Age" under Kuffour when the New Cedi was equivalent to the US Dollar, I ask them to confirm if our economy was better than Canada’s because that was what it meant because the strength, and therefore the value of your currency, is determined by your economy. Of course they say no. Then I ask, “If Ghana’s economy didn’t come close to Canada’s (indeed it has never matched Canada’s) and the Canadian Dollar was less than the US Dollar, shouldn’t it follow that Ghana’s Cedi should be less than the Canadian Dollar and therefore the US Dollar? They agree but can’t explain how Kuffour and Team Bawumia pulled this off. When I explain how, they walk away with their tails between their legs like defeated dogs.
It is your type of loud but half-baked illiterates who're either unwilling or unable to objectively examine Kuffour's economic and fiscal policies and give them the "Disastrous" label they deserve because truth and honesty have been banned from your party's dictionary.
Bawumia's level of expertise is nowhere near the level you people claim. The so-called economic miracle under Kuffour he allegedly authored actually never happened. It was a clever manipulation of facts and figures. It is also becoming clearer by the day that apart from sacrificing long term permanent gains for short-term feel-good ones, developments were far less given the amount of inputs. No wonder Bawumia's economic analysis of the country's present economic situation doesn't resonate with his own peers but rather with people like you who barely understand what they read and cover their shortcomings with insults.
Be still and put on your thinking caps. Objectively analyze the so-called Economic Miracle under Kuffour. You'll realize that it actually never happened. It was a mirage and fraud perpetrated on the long-suffering Ghanaians by Bawumia & Co through clever manipulations of facts and figures and that Bawumia is not worth the adulation NPP supporters are heaping on him.
