    The maths will not add up. Very few people pay taxes anyone, so where is he going to get the balance for all the freebees to the pensioners.

    If they worked hard enough, Ghana would not be taxing them after end of service.

    Honesty, in those countries where inheritance tax and Pensions are taxed they are called "advanced countries" because the systems work. There is nothing free out there but the taxes are used to improve and develop the country ...

    All Ghanaians pay tax just that the taxes they pay are are not used properly. Any person who buys anything pays VAT. Is VAT not taxation?

    Even if NDC were the perfect govt, VAT alone can not run Ghana. We have import, export, and all kinds of property and employment taxes. Think boy.

    Accounting wise(i.e. tax law) pension is not taxed in GH,but criminals NDC want to find a way to tax pensioners.Open you eyes Kofi just look at Fuel Pxs & Electricity bills loaded with plenty huhudious taxes.

    I am not afraid of paying taxes on my salary and my allowance. That is what the state needs to provide me with my needs as a citizen. My concern is how the money is used.

    Pensions are not taxed nor Provident funds that have matured, but allowances and bonuses were taxed even from 2001 to 2009 when Kufuor was the president of Ghana.
