I just hate chieftaincy as we have it now. Some have become stomach politicians and move with where the political wind blows.
I also feel sorry for the youth who arm themselves with whatever weapons they can have to fight for different factions. What will chieftaincy do to help you? I don't blame them because if they have responsible jobs, they will not be fooling. They get more free time to fool about.Some also burden themselves to carry palanquin in which the chief would be seated. Left to me alone chiefs will carry their own stools and palanquins. The youth should think of themselves and stop following politicians and chiefs foolishly.

Frank, if these Chiefs believe their mandate is to enjoy at the expense of their subjects, they are setting themselves up for irrelevance. They should take a cue from the people who prop them up in a palanquin- without them the Chiefs cannot be held up high. A Chief's worth is and always will be validated by their subjects. If some of these Chiefs continue to abuse power, they will become worthless, when subjects withdraw their faith in the institution they head.

Is Tekper patriotic at all? Indeed, we have vagabonds in power. Mahama and the NDC are ready to sell Ghana to foreigners for their own gain. UBA was born out of patriotism. UBA used to be a British owned bank but the Federal Government of Nigeria nationalised it to become a fully owned bank of Nigeria because of patriotism. Tekper should have also been driven by patriotism to hand this juicy investment to Ghana Government owned banks, especially,when the motive is to invest in a Ghana Government treasury bills. In legal form, UBA is registered in Ghana but the substance of the Matter is that any profit made will be repatriated to Nigeria with lightening speed and Ghana will be back to square one notwithstanding the inflationary and exchange rate implications that will follow suit.
May God help mother Ghana.

I doubt if you have any kids; but if you do, l wonder what sort of training they will receive from you. It is for our own good to nurture an atmosphere where fruitful discussions could be made as to where the nation is heading - not only for ourselves but also the generations to come. We should not be shortsighted in our thinking. I am from the Volta Region & my daughter is married to a gentleman from Dormaa Ahenkro ( Brong Ahafo). This may be just the beginning in my family. My grandchildren (3 girls) may one day be married to men from Greater Accra, Northern & Upper West regions. Why can't we all live together . The days are gone when you had to restrict marital escapades to your tiny village or tribe. Even aside this, there is a moral obligation for us to coexist in a peaceful atmosphere as we are all one people under God. Douglas , review your ways & behave, act & respond accordingly.
