Lets build up the capacity of NCCE to carry out their citizen education functions. And what is a more education than the presidential debate? The presidential debate should be the number one function because the voter needs to have all the facts of the candidates in order to wisely choose a president.
Tell me, Aponkye, what is the use of teaching people how to vote properly if they don't know who they are voting for? Thus, the presidential debate should be NCCE's number one function and all else come next.

It is just dumb for a party that got 20,000 votes out of over 10m to have equal opportunity with a party that got over 5m votes.
IEA has no right as they are claiming to organize debates and debates are not something we should worry about,it should not even be an issue as we are making it to be but if they have to organize any debate it should be between the president and Akuffo Addo, not including all the mushroom parties, NDC is making mistake on that which they may regret if they push for those mushroom parties to join the debate with the two parties.
I watched Akuffo Addo in the last debate,he is not a good debater when it comes to issues but if we bring in candidates of those mushroom parties some of them can embarass the president, they are just spoilers, they may rather help the NPP and hurt the NDC,just imagine this Greenstreet guy of the CPP who may not pass the 1% line in the election but can cause harm to the ruling candidate,in any debate,he is very eloquent, more than all the candidates,he will say anything to excite the audience, there is nothing like diplomacy or gentility when he is talking.
That debate will be chaos,a disaster if we bring all these parties together, even in America they don't allow any mushroom party to join the debate, you have to get at least 15% in the polls to be allowed to join the debate.
There is nothing wrong with the two man debate, they can organize underdog debate for the mushroom parties on the same day which will precede the main debate like Republicans did recently.

Mr. Haruna is one fine gentleman I dearly respect, and many times I wish he be president. Well compose and very eluquent and can react to any cercumstance with brillance as if he was always waiting for the opportunity if you have listen to him speak on issues before.
Much as I know I can never debate him, I just want to draw his mind a little back on the last debate where Mr. Ayariga ('ayaricuff') used such golden opportunity to crack jokes and to some extent attark NANA, and he is a candidate again with AKUA DONKOR coming on board. Such behaviour is what IEA is trying to avoid because it is an important institution and have a reputation to protect. Again and this is where I think it should concern Mr. Haruna if the smaller unknown parties get the stage and attark NANA which they are already doing but in the rented press as the former AG, Mr Amidu puts it, that a section of the population who'll be listening into the debate will perceive their action as that of NDC masionation.

Honorable Haruna Iddrisu could not have said it better than this. The 2 main political parties (NDC and NPP) have enough resources, enjoys lots of media coverage than the minor parties. To organize a presidential debate the IEA should rather involve those smaller parties so that they can have an opportunity of marketing themselves. Besides, our constitution frowns upon all sort of discrimination. IEA should therefore think and come again.
